Introduction
MICAT 2020 (Mudra Institute of Communications Admission Test) is a university level MBA entrance test conducted by Mudra Institute of Communications, Ahmadabad. On clearing MICAT 2020, the candidates become eligible to apply for PGDM-C (Post Graduate Diploma in Management-Communications) course at MICA Ahmedabad campus. MICAT is organized twice a year i.e., MICAT I and MICAT II. MICAT 2020 registration will open from the 3rd week of August 2019 for MICAT I and from the 3rd week of December 2019 for MICAT II.

MICAT 2020 Exam Date
The MICAT 1 2020 will be held in the 1st week of December, 2019.
The MICAT 2 2020 will be held in the 2nd week of February, 2020.

Mode of Examination
The examination will be conducted in online mode (computer-based test), in objective and subjective format.

MICAT 2020 Eligibility
Qualifying Exam
A candidate must have a bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification in any discipline from a university recognized by the Association of Indian Universities (AIU).
Final Year Students
Students currently in the final year of bachelor’s study are also eligible to apply.
Additional Exam Required
Apart from MICAT, candidates should have appeared for CAT / XAT / GMAT.
MICAT 2020 Registration
Currently, the MICAT 2020 application portal is closed.
Candidates can fill the application form for MICAT via online mode only.
The registration for MICAT 1 2020 will start from the 3rd week of August 2019 whereas the registration for MICAT 2 2020 will be started from the 3rd week of December 2019
Application Fee
The application Fee for MICAT 2020 (both 1 & 2) for all candidates is INR 1985.
The candidate can choose to pay in any one of the following methods:
Online mode: The application fee which can be paid through Credit Card, Debit Card or Net Banking.
Offline mode
Candidates can pay offline in cash at any of the payment counters available across various SBI branches.
NOTE: The SBI bank Challan has three parts. After paying the test fees at an SBI Bank branch, the bank will return two parts of the stamped Challan. Candidates are requested to keep one receipt with themselves and send the other signed & stamped MICA copy of the pay-in slip and send it to the following address:

Candidates can also pay through a demand draft (DD) / multi city cheque/ at par cheque of Rs 1985 from any nationalized bank.
Then, Take a printout of the Payment Advice form, sign it and send it along with the DD / multi city cheque / at par cheque to the MICA at the above mentioned address.

MICAT Admit Card 2020
The MICAT 1 2020 Admit Card will be available from Last week of November 2019.
The MICAT 2 2020 Admit Card will be available from 1st week of February 2020.
The admit card will be made available on the official website only. Candidates are required to download and take a print of their admit card as it will not be send via post.

MICAT 2020 Exam Pattern
MICAT exam comprises of 03 stages of written exam –
- The Psychometric test,
- The MICAT test and
- the Descriptive test.
The Psychometric test is qualifying in nature and candidates qualifying the exam will have their CAT/XAT/GMAT scores scrutinized. Candidates scoring above a certain benchmark in either of CAT/XAT/GMAT shall be allowed to appear for MICAT and descriptive test.
Mode of exam
MICAT will be conducted in online mode i.e. Computer-based test.
Exam Duration
For MICAT the candidates get 2-hours & 50 minutes to answer the questions.
Type of Questions
There will be Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ) and descriptive type questions in the paper.
Total Marks
A total of 153 marks will be allotted to the whole paper.
Total Number of Questions
153 questions spread over 06 sections from the areas of:
- Psychometric test (which is a qualifier section),
- Verbal Ability,
- Quantitative Ability,
- General Awareness,
- Divergent-Convergent Reasoning and
- Descriptive test.
NOTE: Aspirants need to qualify the Psychometric test in order to be further assessed for the other 5 MICAT sections.
Marking Scheme
+1 mark will be allotted for each correct answer and 0.25 marks will be deducted for every wrong answer in section-B alone.
However, the other sections do not contain negative marking.

MICAT 2020 Results
MICAT 1 2020 Results will be announced probably in the 3rd week of December 2019.
MICAT 2 2020 Results will be announced probably in the 2nd week of February 2020.
Candidates must check the results online on the official website i.e. http://www.mica.ac.in/ by entering the MICA Application ID and Password and must keep a hard copy of the scorecard.
MICA Selection Procedure
The MICA Admission procedure is divided into 03 stages overall.
- Stage I: Written Exams
- Stage II: Group Exercise (GE)
- Stage III: Personal Interview (PI).
Written Exams
The written exam or entrance test stage comprises of following parts:
- Psychometric Test,
- MICAT,
- Descriptive test.
Candidates who successfully qualifying the Psychometric test will have there CAT/XAT/GMAT scores scrutinized, after which they shall be asked to appear for MICAT.
Candidates above a minimum CAT/XAT/GMAT scores shall be called for MICAT and the descriptive test. The exam pattern for these exams has been described above.
GE – PI Test
After clearing the MICAT test, the candidates will be selected for GE-PI round based on:
- 50% weightage to CAT/XAT/GMAT,
- 50% weightage to MICAT.
The GE-PI round would take place in the 2nd & 3rd week of March 2020 at Ahmedabad, Delhi, Kolkata, Bengaluru and Mumbai.
Final Selection
The final list of selected candidates will be based on following test in given composition:
- CAT/XAT/GMAT: 20%
- MICAT: 30%
- GE: 20%
- PI: 30%.
