NOTICE FOR THE CANDIDATES TO CONFIRM/REVISE THE CHOICE OF CENTRE FOR CIVIL SERVICES (MAIN) EXAMINATION, 2021
(i) The Union Public Service Commission will conduct the Civil Services (Main) Examination, 2021 for 5 days on 07.01.2022, 08.01.2022, 09.01.2022, 15.01.2022 & 16.01.2022.
(ii) UPSC , vide notification dated 17/11/2021 has notified that in view of the requests of the candidates for allowing change in their Centre for the Civil Services (Main) Examination, 2021, the Commission has decided to give an opportunity to all the candidates of this Examination for revising their Examination Centre, if required.
(iii) This facility will be part of Detailed Application Form-I which will be made available shortly.
(iv) It is to be noted that Centre once opted in Detailed Application Form‐I will be considered as final and the Commission will not entertain any request in this regard. As such , due care is to be taken while opting and locking the centre.

The Supreme Court on Thursday dismissed the petition seeking for the postponement of the Engineering Services Examination (ESE), 2021 conducted by UPSC.
(i) Honorable Supreme Court on Thursday dismissed the petition seeking for the postponement of the Engineering Services Examination (ESE), 2021 conducted by UPSC.
(ii) The petition was filed for postponement of preliminary exam of ESE-2021.
(iii) Justice Banerjee remarked, “There is no fundamental right to seek an exam to be conducted on a particular date”, and stated that the matter could not be entertained.

RESCHEDULING OF THE NDA & NA EXAMINATION (II), 2021 TO 14.11.2021 AND OPTION TO CHANGE THE CENTRE
(i) UPSC has notified to conduct the NDA & NA Examination (II), 2021 on 14th November, 2021 (instead of 05th September, 2021) along with the already scheduled Combined Defence Services Examination (II), 2021.
(ii) This NDA & NA Examination (II), 2021 will now be held at 75 Centres across the country. Therefore, the candidates, who have already applied, are given the option to change their Centres, if they so desire.
(iii) The accordingly updated Online Application Form has been made functional on the Commission’s website (upsconline.nic.in), which will be available till the last date i.e. 29.06.2021 (06:00 p.m.).

(viii) The preferences once opted and submitted cannot be modified or changed at a later stage. Therefore, the candidates are advised to exercise due diligence while filling up the preferences for Zones as well as Cadres there under. No change in preferences for Zones once indicated by a candidate would be permitted. If a candidate fails to submit the DAF-II by last date/time, it will be considered that the candidate has no preference to make for Zones & Cadres and no request shall be entertained in this regard.
(ix) No request for any type of change/modification of information already supplied in DAF-II would be entertained by the Commission.

4The preliminary exam of ESE-2021 is due on 18 July, 2021. UPSC has not postponed the exam till date. From reliable resources, it is reported that aspiring candidates demanding postponement of the exam due to covid pandemic. Candidates are demanding postponement of exam on social media. It is relevant that preliminary exam of CSE -2021 has already been postponed by the UPSC due to covid. Approximately, 2-3 lakh candidates expected to appear in the exam.

Notes : 1 The candidates required to produce the original certificates in support of their claims relating to age, educational qualifications, community, benchmark disability (where applicable) etc. at the time of the Personality Test.Candidates have been advised to keep these documents in readiness to produce at the time of personality test.
2 Qualified candidates are required to mandatorily fill up the Detailed Application Form (DAF), which will be made available on the Commission’s Website https://upsconline.nic.in from 24.12.2020 to 05.01.2021 till 06.00 P.M.
3 Detailed instructions for filling up of DAF and submitting the same ONLINE to the Commission will also be made available on website.
4 It is important to note that candidates who have been declared successful have to first get themselves registered on the relevant page of the Commission’s website before filling up the ONLINE DAF and submit the same ONLINE.
5 At the stage of registration by the candidates as detailed in note (4) above, candidates have to upload the scanned copies of relevant certificates/documents in support of their eligibility, claim for reservation etc.

Analysis of Paper and expected Cut off.
1 Civil Services (Preliminary) Exam -2020 held on to day Sunday o4 October 2020. The exam held in 72 cities and 2569 sub centres. Nearly, 10.60 lakh Candidates registered for the exam.
2 As per appeared candidates, the paper has been assessed and rated moderate. But almost pattern of previous years papers have been followed. However paper was little tough and application based.
3 As per analysis of experts, Expected Cut off for CSE ( Prelims)-2020 will be 82-91 for General category.

(a) CSE ( Prelims)-2019: 98 ( Gen Category)
(b) CSE ( Prelims)-2018: 98 ( Gen Category)

4 Analysis: As per General Survey from the appeared candidates , the questions in paper is mainly based on Economy and Science and Technology. Questions from Geography and History were conventional in General. Difficulty level of History Segment was easy to moderate. Polity had also touched the current affairs. This year more questions were conceptual based. There were 13 questions directly from economy like role of cooperative Banks, monetary policies of RBI etc., but, difficulty level of Economy Segment was easy to moderate. Apart from this, questions related to recent trends of Agricultural developments like friendly agriculture practices, MSP, agri procurements. Questions from History and economy were little tough.
