Introduction
Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore is an esteemed and deemed public institution located in the IT hub Bengaluru, Karnataka. Bachelor of Science (B.Sc)
Admission in programme is offered based on the merit list of one of the following national examinations:

M.Des Admissions
M.Des admissions at IISc Bangalore are based on candidate’s performance GATE or CEED, followed by a Design aptitude test and an Interview.
M.Mgt Admissions
M.Mgt admissions at IISc Bangalore are based on performance in the group discussion and interview which will be conducted after screening based on GATE/CAT/GMAT scores.
PhD Admissions
For pursuing doctorate courses at IISc Bangalore, candidates must possess an M.E/M.Tech/M.Sc(Engg)/M.S/MBA(post BE/B Tech/Master’s degrees).
These candidates will be shortlisted for an interview based on their academic performance (including their past performance in national tests, in which they have qualified prior to their Master’s degree, and/or the number of Publications they have).
Selection will be based on performance in the interview.

Scholarships

Reimbursement of Travelling Expenses
- Candidates who join the Institute are eligible for reimbursement of Second-Class Railway / Bus fare by the shortest route from the place of residence to the Institute as per following details:
- For attending the counseling (both ways)
- For joining the Institute (one way).
Note: (i) TA form duly filled in along with journey tickets should be submitted to the Admissions Unit within 15 days of joining the Institute.
(ii) Beyond above mentioned period, no claim will be accepted.
IISc Bangalore Campus
Indian Institute of Science, Bengaluru is one of the India’s oldest Institute being established in 1909. The institute was
conceptualised by J.R.D Tata with monetary help from Maharaja of Mysore. Apart from monetary help, Maharaja also contributed a land of 400 acres for the institute.
Currently, the institute is situated on this 400-acres of donated land in the heart of city of Bengaluru. IISc Bangalore campus houses:
- 6 canteens or cafeterias,
- 1 multi-cuisine restaurant,
- a gymkhana that combines gymnasium and sports complex,
- 9 men hostels and 5 women’s dormitories,
- 2 playgrounds for playing football and cricket,
