AIIMS or All India Institute of Medical Sciences is a public medical research university in India. Established in 1956, AIIMS, Delhi is termed “the most phenomenal” medical institute in the history of modern India. Apart from its phenomenal part, the institute is also the cheapest hospital in the country. As of 2016, there are currently 6 AIIMS campuses across the country other than the Delhi campus.
AIIMS 2017 MBBS Admissions
Every year AIIMS is known to conduct a separate entrance test for admission to its MBBS degree course. The test is organized by AIIMS, Delhi at around 150+ test centers across the country. As of 2017, a combined strength of 80,000 – 100,000 candidates is expected to register for AIIMS 2017 MBBS admissions against a total of 707 seats.

Date of Examination
AIIMS 2017 MBBS entrance exam will be held on 28th May 2017 (Sunday). The exam will be held in two sessions of 3 ½ hours each.
Session 1: 9:00 AM – 12:30 PM.
Session 2: 3:00 PM – 6:30 PM.
Candidates will be allotted any one of the two sessions by the AIIMS office.
Medium of Examination
AIIMS 2017 MBBS question paper will be available either in ENGLISH or HINDI as per candidate’s choice.
Type of Examination
AIIMS 2017 entrance test is a computer-based test (CBT). No pen/paper mode is available.
Eligibility criteria for AIIMS 2017 MBBS entrance exam include the following:
- Age: Candidate should be at least 17 years of age as on 31st December 2017.
- Date of Birth (DOB): Applicants born on or after 2nd January 2017 are NOT eligible to apply.
- Qualifying Examination: Applicants should have passed the 10+2 exam with minimum 60% marks (50% for SC/ST/OPH) in Physics, Chemistry, Biology (PCB) and English put together. Candidates appearing for 12th exam in 2017 are also eligible.
- Subjects in Qualifying Examination: Applicants must have studied 12th class with Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English as subjects.

How to Apply?
The application fee for AIIMS 2017 MBBS entrance exam was Rs. 1000 for General and OBC (Rs. 800 for SC/ST) category students. However, no charges were incurred on OPH category students.
Candidates had to pay the application fee only via ONLINE modes i.e. Debit Card/Credit Card and Net Banking.

- Scanned signature against white background – JPEG/JPG/GIF/PNG format – size between 50 – 100 kb.
- Scanned left-hand thumb impression against white background – JPEG/JPG/GIF/PNG format – size between 50 – 100 kb.
The application for AIIMS 2017 MBBS entrance exam is closed now. Candidates had to follow the link http://mbbs.aiimsexams.org/# to begin the application.
The AIIMS 2017 MBBS entrance exam application was divided into 6 stages.
Stage 1: Registration
At this very first step of application, the candidate is asked about his/her personal details such as Father’s Name, Name, contact, email and other information. The stage ends when the candidate clicks on the “Proceed” button at the bottom of the page. Upon clicking on “proceed”, a dialog box informing the candidate about his/her application no. pops up. The same is also emailed and messaged to the candidate along with his/her password and login ID.
Upon logging in for the first time with the two credentials, the candidate will be prompted to change his password.
Candidates can choose to edit info provided by them before the payment stage.
Stage 2: Make Payment
After successful registration, the candidate would be asked to pay the application fee of AIIMS 2017 as mentioned above. The application fee can only be paid via online modes.
Candidates can choose to check the city center availability before paying.
Stage 3: City Choice
After successful payment of the application fee, the candidate can now proceed with locking the city of his/her choice. The city once chosen cannot be changed at later stages.
Stage 4: Qualification & Address Details
At this stage, the candidate has to enter details regarding his/her qualifying exam (12th std.) and fill in the address for future correspondences.
Stage 5: Upload Images
In the 5th stage, the candidate has to upload the images of his/her signature, photograph and left thumb impression. The format and specifications for the same have been mentioned above.
Stage 6: Printing the Application form
After completing the above stages, the candidate will now be asked to print his/her application form. Before printing the same, it is highly recommended to thoroughly check the application form for any errors. If there is any error the candidate can choose to edit the application form. If there is no error, the candidate can proceed by clicking on the final submit button. Upon final submission, the candidate will receive an email from AIIMS 2017 informing the same.
This completes your application for AIIMS 2017 MBBS entrance exam. Please do not send this application form to AIIMS office as there is no provision for doing so.

After reviewing the application forms, status for the same was made available on AIIMS 2017 website on 7th March 2017. Candidates will also be given chance to fill in the loopholes (if any) till 22nd March 2017.

Candidates who will successfully apply for AIIMS 2017 MBBS entrance exam will have admit cards made available for them from 1st May 2017 on aiimsexams.org.
AIIMS 2017 MBBS entrance exam is a 3 ½ hour long computer-based test. The test will comprise of 200 MCQs in total. The questions will be from 5 fields of study including the following.
- Physics – 60 questions.
- Chemistry – 60 questions.
- Biology (Botany & Zoology) – 60 questions.
- General Knowledge – 10 questions.
- Aptitude & Logical Thinking – 10 questions.
Each correct answer will fetch 1 mark while each incorrect one will take away 1/3 mark.
The score obtained in such a manner will later be converted to percentiles and percentages to create cut-off.
Unlike other entrance tests, AIIMS 2017 MBBS exam has a pre-defined minimum cut off marks. Only those candidates who will reach this thresh hold will be considered for further merit list.
