Introduction


SSC Constables exam-2021 has been advertised. Through this exam, recruitment is done for Constables (GD) in Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs), NIA, SSF and Rifleman (GD) in Assam Rifles . SSC (Staff Selection Commission), a premier recruiting agency of Government Of India, recruits the employees for various departments of Central Government.

2.1 Pay Scale

3 Language of Examination


The SSC Constables Exam will be conducted in the following two languages:

  • English.
  • Hindi. 

4 Exam Date


Examination date of SSC constables Exam will be notified later on.


5 Eligibility Criteria

Nationality


Applicants must meet the following for eligibility :-

Candidate must be a citizen of India.

Note: – Vacancies are state/ UT wise hence a candidate must submit domicile/ PRC against his state/ UT. 

6 Educational Qualification (As on 01/08/2021)

Educational qualification of SSC constables exam-2021 will be as under:-


6.1   The candidates must have passed Matriculation or 10th Class Examination from a recognized Board/ University.

6.2   Candidates who have not acquired the essential educational qualification as on the stipulated date will not be eligible and need not apply.

6.3 Incentive to NCC Certificate Holders: The incentive to ‘NCC Certificate’ holders will be granted at the following scales:

Note:- The crucial date for this purpose will be the closing date of receipt of online applications.

7 Age Limit   ( As on 01 August, 2021)

Age criterion of SSC Constables exam is as under:-

 7.1  Candidate must be 18-23 years as on 01.08.2021.

7.2   Candidates should not have been born earlier than 02.08.1998 and later than 01.08.2003.

8.3  Permissible relaxation in upper age limit for various categories will be as under:-

Note :-  Date of Birth entered  by the candidate in the online application form and the same recorded in the Matriculation/ Secondary Examination Certificate will be accepted by the Commission for determining the age and no subsequent request for change will be considered or granted. 

8 How to Apply


8.1 Applications are to be submitted only in online mode at the official website of the Commission.

8.1.1  Application form will be available in digital format only. No off-line form of registration will be acceptable.

8.2   Application Fee 

Application fee shall be as per following:

Candidates can pay the application fee through both Online & Offline mediums. The available medium is:

  1. SBI Branches (payment in cash by generating Challan). 
  2. BHIM UPI  
  3. Net Banking by using Visa, Master Card, Maestro , RuPay
  4. Credit Card/Debit Card.

 Notes :- (a)  The last date of online fee  payment is up 02.09.2021(23:30                 hours).

                (b) Candidates who wish to make the payment through challan of SBI, may make the payment in cash at the designated branches of SBI within the  working hours of bank up to 07/09/2021provided the Challan has been generated by them before 04.09.2021 (23:30 hours).

                (c) Fee once paid shall not be refunded under any circumstances nor will it be adjusted against any other examination or selection.

8.3 Examination Centres:

8.3.1 Candidate has to give option for three centres, in the order of priority, within the same Region. No request for change of centre will be considered later under any circumstances..

8.3.2 For examination centres, go on official notification.

8.4 Photograph and Signature Specifications


8.4.1  Scanned  coloured passport size Photograph (Size: 20KB to 50 KB) is to be uploaded  in JPEG Format. Image dimension of the photograph should be about 3.5 cm (width) x 4.5 cm (height).

8.4.2 Photograph should be without cap, spectacles and both ears should be visible.

     8.4.3 The photograph should not be more than three months old from the date of publication of the Notice of Examination, and, the date on which the photograph has been taken should be clearly printed on the photograph.

8.4.4 Applications without such date printed on the photograph will be rejected.

8.4.5 Scanned signature (Size: 11KB-12KB; Resolution: 40 X 60 pixels) in JPEG format has to be be uploaded .

 8.5 Steps of Applying


8.5.1 Part I  : Registration  ( One Time)

The part I is the registration and only one time. It requires certain basic credentials of the candidate including verification of mobile Number.

Please keep ready following documents before starting Registration:-                (i)  Mobile Number (to be verified through OTP)
(ii)  Email ID (to be verified through OTP).
(iii) Aadhaar Number. If, Aadhaar Number is not available, please give one of the
following ID Numbers. (Candidate has to show the original document at a
later stage):
(a) Voter ID Card
(b) PAN
(c)  Passport
(d)  Driving License
(e)  School/ College ID
(f)  Employer ID (Govt./ PSU/ Private)                                                                      (iv) Disability Certificate Number, if you are a person with benchmark disability
(v) Information about the Board, Roll Number and Year of Passing the Matriculation
       (10th) Examination.

Step 1 : Go on link : https://ssc.nic.in

Step 2 :Home page of SSC will appear. Go on Right side box and click ”New User’

 Step 3 : A new page will appear where in enter basic details and save it.

 Step 4 : Then fill the “Additional and Contact Details” 

 Step 5 : Upload Photo and signature details and submit. 

 Step 6 : A page will appear containing other details and Registration Number and take print of it and keep in safe custody for future reference.

8.5.2   Part II  : Filling up the Application form

Step 1: Go on link : https://ssc.nic.in

Step 2 :Home page  of SSC will appear. Go on Right side box and Log in with User Name and password.

Step 3 : Fill the credentials

Step 4 :Make Payment of Application fee( as detailed above)

Step 5   Upload photo graph and signature

Step 6 : Take print out of the Complete Application form

 Note : – (a) Candidates must not send the printed application form to SSC office under any circumstance.

(b) The Application process is completely online.

(c) For examination centres , refer page 9 to 11 of Broucher. Candidate may opt for 03 centres in order of the priority within the same region.

(d) In any circumstances request for change of examination centre will be considered.

9 Admit Card


  • Applicants have to download their Admit Card of SSC constable Exam from the official Website of SSC with following steps :
  •   Log on    Admission Card
  •  Click on Admit Card  At top
  • A  new page will open containing sites of all the regional centers for down load the Admit Card.
  • Click on your Regional Center
  • A new page will open
  • Click on Admission certificate for Junior Engineer 2018
  • A new page will appear
  • Enter 11 digit User Id and Date of Birth
  • Then click against I Agree
  • Click Search Button
  • Admission Certificate will appear, which you can print
  • The details of Exam Date and Exam Centre will be contained in the Admit Card.
  • Candidates will have to bring the ID proofs such as Adhaar Card, Voter Cards, Driving Licence, etc along with the Admit Card on the day of the Examination.

10 Exam Pattern:

The Computer based examination will consist of one objective type paper containing 100 questions carrying 100 marks, with the following composition:

  • Notes: (i)  The questions in Computer Based Examination will be of matriculation level.
  •            (ii) All questions will be of Objective Multiple Choice Type.
  •            (iii) There will be negative marking of 0.25 marks for each wrong answer. Candidates are, therefore, advised to keep this in mind while answering the questions.
  •             (iv) Marks obtained by candidates in the Computer Based Examination will be normalized by using the formula published by the Commission through Notice No: 1-1/2018-P&P-I dated 07-02-2019 .Such normalized scores along with the bonus marks for NCC Certificate holders will be used to determine final merit and cut-off marks.
  •          (v) calculators and other electronic gadgets will not be permitted to use in the exam..

 11 Syllabus 

Detailed syllabus of SSC constables Exam is as under:-


 11.1 General Intelligence and Reasoning: Analytical aptitude and ability to observe and distinguish patterns will be tested through questions principally of non-verbal type. This component may include questions on analogies, similarities and differences, spatial visualization, spatial orientation, visual memory, discrimination, observation, relationship concepts, arithmetical reasoning and figural classification, arithmetic number series, non-verbal series, coding and decoding, etc.

11.1.1 General Knowledge and General Awareness: Questions in this component will be aimed at testing the candidate’s general awareness of the environment around him. Questions will also be designed to test knowledge of current events and of such matters of every day observations and experience in their scientific aspect as may be expected of any educated person. The test will also include questions relating to India and its neighboring countries especially pertaining to sports, History, Culture, Geography, Economic Scene, General Polity, Indian Constitution, and scientific Research etc. These Questions will be such that they do not require a special study of any discipline.

11.2  Elementary Mathematics: This paper will include questions on problems relating to Number Systems, Computation of Whole Numbers, Decimals and Fractions and relationship between Numbers, Fundamental arithmetical operations, Percentages, Ratio and Proportion, Averages, Interest, Profit and Loss, Discount, Mensuration, Time and Distance, Ratio and Time, Time and Work, etc.

11.3  English/ Hindi: Candidates’ ability to understand basic English/ Hindi and his basic comprehension would be tested.
