Reserve Bank of India (RBI) is the central banking institution of India and controls the monetary policy of the country. It regulates all the banks and provides essential financial services like inflation control, the issue of currency, storage of foreign exchange reserves etc. RBI, starting from 2015, conducts a national-level recruitment examination for selection of its grade B level officers. The RBI Grade B recruitment test comprises of three stages: Phase I, Phase II (both Online), and an interview. Close to 2 lakhs candidates took the RBI Grade ‘B’ Phase I exam.

RBI Grade B 2020 Salary
Upon clearing the RBI Grade B 2019 Officer Exam, a probation period of 2 years (extendable to 4 years) will have to be served. A RBI Grade B Officer has to handle responsibilities like currency issue and circulation, keeping inflation in check, managing central government accounts etc.
The salary of Grade B Officer in RBI differs with the area of posting but the basic pay is Rs. 35, 150/- pm in the scale of Rs 35150-1750(9)-50900-EB-1750 (2)-54400-2000(4)-62400 and they will also be eligible for Dearness Allowance, Local allowance, House Rent Allowance, Family allowance and Grade Allowance as per rules in force from time to time. At present, initial monthly Gross emoluments are
approximately ₹ 77,208/-(approx.)

Medium of Examination
RBI Grade B 2019 Exam Phase I shall be conducted in both ENGLISH and HINDI. For Phase II, except English Language Paper, the other two papers shall be conducted in both ENGLISH and HINDI. The candidate can opt for either of the languages.
Mode of Examination
RBI Grade B 2019 exam (both Phase I and Phase II) will be a Computer-Based Test (CBT) and thus shall be conducted online.
RBI Grade B 2019 Eligibility
Nationality
Candidate must either be a –
- Citizen of India or,
- Citizen of Nepal or subject of Bhutan or,
- Person of Indian Origin (PIO) who have migrated from Myanmar, Sri Lanka, Pakistan or East African countries and intend to permanently settle in India.
Qualifications
1 Officers in Grade ‘B’ (DR) – (General): Candidate must have completed his/her graduation with 60% (50% in case of SC/ST/PWD candidates) or more marks from a recognized college or university.
He/she must have secured 60% (50% for SC/ST/PWD) or more marks in 10th and 12th standard examinations too.

RBI Grade B 2019 Age Limit
- The candidate must be in the age range 21-30 years. ( Attained age 21 Years and must not have attained the age of 30 years as on 01 September 2019. Thus, he/she must have been born not earlier than 2nd September 1989 and not later than 1st September 1998
- For candidates pursuing M.Phil. and Ph.D., upper age limit is 32 and 34 years respectively.
- Upper age limit is relaxed for candidates with experience in commercial banks or financial institutions. The relaxation is equal to the number of years of experience subject to a maximum of 3 years. But even for them, upper age limit is 33 years.
- Age relaxations will be provided as per post availability for reserved categories. Last year following relaxations were provided:

Number of Attempts
The number of attempts is 6 for General candidates. There is no cap on the number of attempts for SC/ST/OBC/PWD candidates.
RBI Grade B 2019 Exam Pattern
RBI Grade B 2019 exam will be conducted in two phases – Phase I and Phase II. The exam is followed by an interview. The mode of the exam, both Phase I and Phase II, shall be online.
Phase I
In Phase I, the questions shall be objective in nature (MCQs). There shall be 200 questions of 1 mark each. A negative marking of 0.25 mark for each incorrect answer is the rule. The exam duration shall be 2 hours. Candidates have to secure both sectional and overall minimum qualifying marks.
The Phase I paper shall comprise of the following sections:

Phase II

Candidates shall be called for interview based on the marks received in Phase II of written exam. Total marks for the interview would be 50 marks. Candidates can opt for either English or Hindi for the interview.

RBI Grade B 2019 Fee
The application fee for RBI Grade B exam 2019 would be :
Rs. 850 for General/OBC candidates,
Rs. 100 for SC/ST/PWD/Ex-Service candidates
No fee for the staff of RBI.
Application fee can be paid through Online mode i.e. Debit Cards ,RuPay/Visa/MasterCard/Maestro), Credit Cards, Internet Banking, IMPS, Cash Cards/ Mobile Wallets.

Before registration, candidate must have active:
- A valid personal email ID

These will required till the completion of this recruitment process. Bank may send intimation to download call letters for the Examination etc. through the registered e-mail ID.
In case a candidate does not have a valid personal e-mail ID, he/she should create his/her new e-mail ID and have mobile
- On clicking On line Applications Form , candidate will be redirected to new page of registration.To register, click on New Registration and enter basic details like name, email ID, date of birth, contact number etc.
- After registration is completed, a provisional registration number and password are generated for future use.( An Email & SMS indicating the Provisional Registration number and Password will also be sent).
- The candidate then needs to upload the photograph and signature as per the specifications mentioned earlier.
- The candidate then has to fill up educational information and other details as they appear on the form.
- The candidate then has to submit the application form after verifying all the details.
- In the last stage, the candidate has to pay the application fee as per the mode mentioned earlier.
- Pre view of the application is to be seen before FINAL SUBMISSION BUTTON.
Note: (i) Exam conducting body does not send any communication by any oher mode than E-mail/SMS.
(ii) No change in E-mail ID will be entertained during the entire process of the recruitment
- RBI Grade B 2019 Syllabus
The RBI Grade B 2019 Exam will test the candidate on everything from English to Quantitative Aptitude and General Awareness. For Finance and Management paper, knowledge of financial markets, financial systems etc. shall be tested. The English language paper shall test the writing skills of the candidates. In Economic and Social Issues paper, topics like growth and development, economic reforms etc. shall be covered.

RBI Grade B 2019 Admit Card
The admit cards for Phase I will be issued ( To be notified later) and those for Phase II will be issued in the ( To be notified later).
Candidates need to carry a photo identity proof along with the admit card on the day of the examination. The admit card is mandatory for appearing in the examination and strictly not transferable.
RBI Grade B 2019 Results
Three results would be announced for RBI Grade B examinations – Phase I, Phase II and Final. The final results for RBI Grade B 2019 will tentatively be announced to be notified later.
The final results will take into account the marks scored in both Phase II written exam and the interview.

According to RBI’s official notification last year, in case of CGPA, the conversion methodology presented by the University shall be accepted. However, if the concerned university does not present such a method, then 6.75 CGPA will be considered equivalent to 60%.

As per RBI Grade B 2017 notification, the date of reference for passing the qualifying examination i.e. graduation was 1st May 2017 with the notification being released on 3rd May.
But, till now no notification regarding the exam has been released, hence we can’t talk about the date of reference at this moment. We advise you to wait for the official notice.
