Introduction

JIPMER (Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research, Puducherry) conducts a national-level PG medical entrance exam twice a year in January and July respectively for aspirants seeking admission into MD/MS/DM/M.Ch/Fellowship courses. JIPMER has been declared as an “Institution of National Importance” by an Act of Parliament, 2008. A total of 100 seats are available in each course with 95 seats being reserved for Indian Candidates while the remaining 5 is reserved for Sponsored and Foreign National Candidates. Candidates will be given admission based on their score in JIPMER PG 2019 entrance exam. Along with AIIMS PG entrance exam, JIPMER PG exam forms the second independently conducted entrance exam even after introduction of single window entrance through NEET PG.

JIPMER PG 2019 Exam Date

The January Session for JIPMER PG 2019 is expected to be conducted by 3^rd week of Nov, 2018.

For MD/ MS Course:                                           

 18 May 2019(Saturday)

10.00 am to 01.00 pm

For MDS Course

18 May 2019(Saturday)

10.00 am to 11.30 am

Mode of Answering

JIPMER PG 2019 is a Computer Based Test with Mulitple Choice Questions.

Medium of Examination

The exam is conducted only in English language and there are no other languages available.

Eligibility Criteria

Following clauses fall under the JIPMER PG eligibility criteria:

M.D/M.S Course

Nationality

Indian National and Overseas Citizens of India are eligible to apply.

Foreign Nationals candidates are required to route their application through the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India, New Delhi.

Educational qualification

The candidates must possess MBBS or an equivalent Degree recognized by the Medical Council of India

The candidate must have secured a minimum of 55% aggregate marks in the above qualifying degree (50% in case of SC/ST candidates)

Internship

Candidate must have completed the required period of 12 months rotating internship before 30^th June, 2019 for July Session.

Note: Candidates who have already done/completed MD/MS in any subject in any Institution are not eligible for admission to MD/MS course at JIPMER.

M/M.Ch/Fellowship

Nationality

Only Indian National and Overseas Citizens of India are eligible to apply.

Educational qualification

Candidates should have passed M.D/D.N.B Degree from any University recognized as equivalent thereto by the Medical Council of India.

Candidate must be registered with Central /State Medical Registration Council.

JIPMER PG 2019 Application Form

Candidates can apply only through the online application process.

Registrations for JIPMER PG 2019  July Session is CLOSED NOW.

JIPMER2019 application portal is expected to be opened by 1^st Week of September 2018 for January Session and Registrations for JIPMER PG 2019  July Session is CLOSED NOW.

Application fee

Application fee can be paid only by online transactions.

The application fee for various courses as for various categories is tabulated below:

M.D/M.S

D.M/M.Ch or Fellowship Course

Candidates applying for either of the 3 courses must pay the following amount as application fee.

D.M + M.Ch + Fellowship Course

Candidates applying for all of the 3 courses must pay the following amount as application fee.

Documents to be uploaded

• Digital Passport sized photo with a placard bearing Name of applicant and date of taking the photo – JPG/JPEG format – 20Kb – 200Kb in size.

• Scanned Signature with black ballpoint pen – 80mm X 35mm – JPEG/JPG format – 20kb-200Kb in size.

Application Process

1. Accessing the link

The first step to submit the JIPMER PG 2019 application form is registration. To register, the candidates will have to go to the website https://cdn.digialm.com/EForms/configuredHtml/827/60114/Registration.html     for January 2019 Session” or “Apply on-line MD/MS admission – July 2019 Session       (Now active)

2. Online Registration

Next, the candidates need to enter the following details:

• Name of Candidate
• Date of Birth
• Mobile No.
• Confirm Mobile No.
• E-mail ID
• Confirm E-mail ID
• Verification Code

Then click on ‘Submit’ button

3. Confirmation E-mail:

Once registered, the candidates will receive a confirmation e-mail with a link to fill the application form of JIPMER PG 2019

4. Filling the JIPMER PG 2019 Application Form:

Using the link sent to the mail Id open the application form of JIPMER PG 2019. Then the candidates will have to fill Personal and Education related details and other required details asked in the form carefully.

5. Test City:

Following the step above, the candidates will be required to choose their preferred Test City. Candidates can opt for any 3 of the test centres. The allotment of Exam City would be as per the order of preference clicked by the applicant during on-line registration on a FIRST-CUM-FIRST served basis. Normally the first preference would be allotted. Depending upon local conditions, JIPMER reserves the right to allot any other Exam City other than the preferences given by the applicant.

6. Payment of Application Fee:

Now, the candidate needs to select the mode of payment to proceed to the payment gateway. Provide the details required to make payment. Once the payment is made, the candidate will have to submit the application form and he/she may not be allowed to make any changes in the application form once it is submitted.

7. Download the Application Form:

The candidates are advised to download the filled-in JIPMER PG application form and take a print out of it.

JIPMER PG 2019 Admit Card

Candidates who will register successfully for the JIPMER PG 2019 exam can download the allotted admit cards online by 1^st week of Nov, 2018 for January session and  from 29 April to 18 May 2019 for July session.

Candidates can access their hall tickets online by providing their login credentials. To download the admit card, a candidate needs to follow the below-mentioned steps:

• Visit the official website using the link jipmer.puducherry.gov.in
• Login using User ID and Password
• Look for the admit card link on the homepage and click on it
• The admit card will appear on the screen; download the same
• Take a print out of the admit card

JIPMER PG 2019 Exam Pattern

The test format for JIPMER PG M.D/M.S entrance test and D.M/M.Ch test has been  described below.

M.S/M.D Course

• Duration: The exam duration will be three hours.
• Type of Question: There will be objective type (MCQ) questions asked in the exam.
• Total marks: 1000
• Total Number of questions asked: 250
• Marking Scheme: 4 marks will be given for each correct answer and 1 mark will be deducted for every wrong answer.

M/M.Ch/Fellowship Course

• Duration: The exam duration will be one and half hours.
• Type of Question: There will be objective type (MCQ) questions asked in the exam.
• Total marks: 400
• Total Number of questions asked: 100
• Marking Scheme: 4 marks will be given for each correct answer and 1 mark will be deducted for every wrong answer.

Questions will be asked from the concerned specialty and related fields of Qualifying Examination.

Candidates are advised to go through the Mock Test for computer-based Test (online exam). Link for the mock test is available on JIPMER’s Website www.jipmer.puducherry.gov.in

JIPMER PG 2019 Results

Appeared students can check the JIPMER PG 2019 Result in the form of a Merit List from the 4^th week of Nov, 2018 for January session and on or before 31 May, 2019 for the July session.

The candidates can view their result by clicking the ‘JIPMER PG-2019 Result’ tab available on the website, www.jipmer.puducherry.gov.in.

Merit List would be drawn discipline wise based on MINIMUM PERCENTILE i.e 50%. Candidates who secure less than the minimum percentile in the Entrance Examination will NOT be considered for admission and their names will NOT be included in the Merit List.
