Application forms for NTA JEE Main 2019 are now available. Apply before 30th September 2019.
JEE Main 2019 shall be conducted twice a year for the first time.
JEE Main 2019 is a national-level premier engineering entrance exam conducted by National Testing Agency (NTA). Implemented in 2013, the exam is the stage one of the 2-stage Joint Entrance exam system for admission to IITs. JEE Main scores fulfill the basic eligibility for candidates willing to study B.Tech programs at NITs, IIITs, CFTIs and other Technical Institutions across the nation. Apart from the central institutions, JEE Main scores also serve as the eligibility criteria for JEE Advanced 2019, to be conducted for IIT admissions. Official notification for JEE 2019 has been published by NTA on 1st Sept 2018.
Beginning from 2019, JEE Main will be conducted by the newly established National testing agency (NTA) taking charge from the CBSE, who conducted the exam since inception. As of 2018, 11.3 lakh students registered for the examination.

Important Dates of JEE Main 2019 (Tentative)

The counselling for JEE Main 2019 will begin after successful conduction of JEE Advanced 2019.
JEE Main 2019 Exam Date
As per latest notice, JEE Main 2019 will be conducted twice a year, the first one being in January 2019 and second session being in April 2019.
The exam dates for JEE Main 2019 (January exam) will be 6th Jan – 20th Jan 2019 while it will be 6th April – 20th April 2018 for April Exam.
Mode of Answering
Computer Based exam
Students will be given only a rough sheet as answers needs to be filled online.
From 2019, JEE Main 2019 can only be taken through a computer-based test.
Medium of Examination
English and Hindi will be available medium of question papers for JEE Main exam 2019. Students from Gujarat, Daman & Diu, Dadra and Nagar Haveli can also opt for Gujarati medium.
JEE Main Conducting Body
JEE Main 2018 will be conducted by National Testing Agency for the first time.
The eligibility criteria for JEE Main examination has been briefed below:
Candidates belonging to all nationalities can apply for the exam.
Aspirants must have studied minimum five subjects in the qualifying examination.
All sorts of age related clauses have been removed by NTA. Hence, JEE Main 2019 has no age limit whatsoever.
How to Apply?
JEE Main registrations 2019 is not yet open.
NTA has started accepting forms from the 1st Sept for Jan Session. The last date to apply for the exam is 30th Sept 2018.
Application will be available online on the official website of JEE Main.
Fees are respective to gender and caste as detailed below.

The Application fee can be paid online via Credit/Debit cards or Paytm. Offline fees can be submitted via bank challan.
In case of e-challan fees must be submitted to Syndicate/Canara/ICICI Bank in cash. Any other forms of payments such as Demand Draft, Money order, IPO, etc will be rejected and is not refundable.
Documents to be uploaded
JEE Main 2019 registration requires following documents:
- Scanned photograph – JPEG – 4-40 kb – 3.5 X 4.5 cm
- Scanned Signature – JPEG – 1-30 kb – 3.5 X 1.5 cm
- Signature of Father/Mother/Guardian– JPEG – 1-30 kb – 3.5 X 1.5 cm
- Aadhar Card.
JEE Main 2019 Examination Pattern
JEE Main 2019 will be a 3-hour long examination irrespective of paper I or II.
There are two papers, one for engineering courses and other for architecture courses. Candidates can appear for either of the papers or both of the papers based on streams chosen.
This is for engineering entrances only. It consists of 90 Multiple choice questions.
There will be a total of 360 marks. The questions from these 3 subjects will be asked:
- Physics -30MCQ,
- Maths -30MCQ,
- Chemistry -30MCQ
Every correct answer gets you 4 marks and each wrong answer loses one mark.
This is for architecture admissions only. There are 82 questions on 3 sections mentioned below:
- Mathematics -30 questions
- Aptitude -50 questions
- Drawing -2 questions
Marking scheme shall remain same as of paper I which is 4 marks for correct answer and a minus one for negative response.
JEE Main admit card 2019 will be released on JEE Main official website from 17th December 2018 for January Exam. It will be available online only.
For April Exam, the cards will be available from 3rd week of March 2019.
Candidates must download their admit card/hall ticket and carry a printout during examination.
JEE Main 2019 official answer key will be released before the publication of the result. The answer key will help the candidates in cross-checking their answers. It will help them get an approximate idea of their score in the JEE Main 2019 examination.
JEE Main result 2019 will be published on 31st Jan 2019 for January Exam.
In case of April Exam, result will be declared on 30th April 2019.
Result will be available online only. Candidates must check their results on JEE Main official website. A merit list will be published after results and eligible candidates can further give JEE Advance 2019 examination.
Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JOSSA) is responsible for conducting counselling for admissions to Undergraduate Engineering Programs at NITs, IIITs, Technical Institutions, or any other Engineering College. Seats for Engineering colleges are allocated according to the All India Rank in JEE Mains and Advance for IIT’s. This is an important procedure if one wishes to take admission. In-person counselling is done at allocated centres. You will get one ID by which you can fill an online application and choose the engineering colleges you wish to take admission in.
