(i) NTA, the examination conducting body of JEE( Main)-2022, has rescheduled the test dates of JEE( Main) -2022, which were scheduled to be held April and May, 2022. The details are as under:-

Introduction

JEE Main  2022 is a national-level premier engineering entrance exam conducted by National Testing Agency (NTA). Implemented in 2013, the exam is the stage one of the 2-stage Joint Entrance exam system for admission to IITs. JEE Main scores fulfill the basic eligibility for candidates willing to study B.Tech programs at NITs, IIITs, CFTIs and other centrally funded Technical Institutions across the country. Apart from the central institutions, JEE Main scores also serve as the eligibility criteria for JEE Advanced 2022.

In JEE( Main) 2021, there were four attempts(Sessions), but, in JEE(Main) 2022, the attempts have been reduced to Two attempts only.

JEE Main 2022 Exam Date

As per latest notice, JEE Main 2022 will be conducted twice a year, the first one being in April 2022 and second in May 2022. For dates of exam above table may be referred.

A candidate need not appear in both Sessions. However, if a candidate appears in more than one Session then his/her best of the JEE (Main) – 2022 NTA Scores will be considered for preparation of Merit List/ Ranking.

Mode of Exam

Exam will be held in “Computer Based Test” (CBT) Mode only, except that the Drawing Test for B.Arch. will be held in “Pen & Paper” (offline) mode.

All calculations/writing work is to be done only in the Rough Sheet provided at the Test Centre in the Examination Room/Hall and on completion of the test, candidates must hand over the Rough Sheets to the Invigilator on duty in the Room/Hall.

Choice of Medium of question papers

Students can attempt the paper in Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Odia, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu, and Urdu in addition to Hindi, English .

Notes: (i) It may be noted that for correctness of the questions in all the question papers, the English version will take precedence and will be final.

        (ii) The option of language for Question Paper has to be exercised  by the candidate while filling up the Application Form online and it cannot be changed at a later stage.

JEE Main Conducting Body

JEE Main 2022 will be conducted by National Testing Agency (NTA). 

Eligibility Criteria

The eligibility criteria for JEE Main examination has been briefed below:

Qualifying Examination

(i) The final examination of the 10+2 system, conducted by any recognized Central/ State Board, such as Central Board of Secondary Education, New Delhi; Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations, New Delhi; etc.

(ii) Intermediate or two-year Pre-University examination conducted by a recognized Board/ University.

(iii)  Final examination of the two-year course of the Joint Services Wing of the National Defence Academy.

(iv) Senior Secondary School Examination conducted by the National Institute of Open Schooling with a minimum of five subjects.

(v) Any Public School/ Board/ University examination in India or any foreign country is recognized as equivalent to the 10+2 system by the Association of Indian Universities (AIU).

(vi) Higher Secondary Certificate Vocational Examination.

(vii) A Diploma recognized by AICTE or a State board of technical education of at least 3 years duration.

(viii) General Certificate Education (GCE) examination (London/Cambridge/Sri Lanka) at the Advanced (A) level.

(ix) High School Certificate Examination of the Cambridge University or International Baccalaureate Diploma of the International Baccalaureate Office, Geneva.

(x) Candidates who have completed the Class 12 (or equivalent) examination outside India or from a Board not specified above should produce a certificate from the Association of Indian Universities (AIU) to the effect that the examination they have passed is equivalent to the Class 12 Examination.

(xi) In case the Class 12 Examination is not a public examination, the candidate must have passed at least one public (Board or Pre-University) examination earlier.

Age Limit

There is no age limit prescribed to apply for JEE Main 2021, however, candidates who have passed the class 12th or equivalent examination in 2020, 2021, or appearing in 2022 irrespective of their age can appear in JEE (Main) – 2022 examination.

Candidates who passed the Class 12/equivalent examination in 2019 or before as well as those who will appear in such examination in 2023 or later are not eligible to appear in JEE (Main) – 2022.

This is to be noted that the candidates may be required to fulfil the age criteria of the Institute(s) in which they are desirous of taking admission.

How to Apply?

Candidates can apply for JEE (Main) – 2022 through the “Online” mode only. The Application Form in any other mode will not be accepted.

    For Registration and for filling up of the application, Go on link:

Choice of exam cities displayed to the candidates will be based on the permanent and correspondence addresses filled during Online Application Form of JEE (Main) – 2022.

Registration will be in following steps:

1    Log on  : Registration Portal 

2   Go on  New Registration (At left hand on screen)

3   Click the link  New Registration  at  bottom.

4   on clicking, a new window will open. Read all the points carefully including password policy.

5   At bottom click in   Check box at left against  I have downloaded Information Bulletin of JEE (Main) 2022, read and understood all the instructions.

6 After this, Click at box “Click here to Proceed’’

7   After clicking it , a new window will open of Registration Form

8   Fill in the registration form with details like Name, DOB, mobile  number and email ID address correctly.   Registration form, which is in 04 parts (Keep in readiness password and security question.)                         

 Note: For correctly creating password, see password policy below.

9  on completion of Registration form, In 4th part, enter security pin shown  below and submit the form by clicking ‘Submit button’

10  On submission  a confirmation page will be generated containing Application Number which will be used 

      Notes:  (i) For subsequent logins, candidate will have to login directly with the system generated Application Number and created Password.

                 (ii)  The created application number will also be used to fill the application form of May 2022.

Password policy

    The Password must be set as per the following Password policy :

        1 Password must be 8 to 13 character long.

        2 Password must have at least one Upper case alphabet

       3  Password must have at least one Lower case alphabet.

       4  Password must have at least one numeric value

       5  Password must have at least one special characters eg.!@#$%^&*-.

   Note:    Ensure uploading the correct Photograph and Signature because facility for correction in images will not be given.

JEE Main 2022 Examination Pattern

JEE Main 2022 will be a 3-hour long examination irrespective of paper I or II.

There are two papers, one for engineering courses and other for architecture courses. Candidates can appear for either of the papers or both of the papers based on streams chosen.

Admit Card 

The Admit Cards of candidates can be down loaded  from official link of NTA.

Candidates must download their admit card/hall ticket and carry a   printout  during examination.

Answer Key

The official answer key will be released before the publication of the result. The answer key will help the candidates in cross-checking their answers. It will help them get an approximate idea of their score in the examination.

Results

Result will be available online only. Candidates must check their results on JEE Main official website. A merit list will be published after results and eligible candidates can further give JEE Advance 2022 examination.

Counselling

Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JOSSA) is responsible for conducting counselling for admissions to Undergraduate Engineering Programs at NITs, IIITs, Technical Institutions, or any other Engineering College. Seats for engineering colleges are allocated according to the All India Rank in JEE Mains and Advance for IIT’s. This is an important procedure if one wishes to take admission. In-person counselling is done at allocated centres. You will get one ID by which you can fill an online application and choose the engineering colleges you wish to take admission in.
