CAT Exam Pattern
The CAT exam is a 3-hour long management entrance examination. The CAT exam comprises of 100 questions with 3 marks being awarded for each correct answer. The whole paper is divided into 3 sections:
- Verbal Reading and Comprehension.
- Data Interpretation & Logical Reasoning.
- Quantitative Aptitude.
There are two question types in CAT exam – MCQs and Non-MCQs. For each incorrect answer to an MCQ, 1 mark will be deducted. No Negative Marking is there in case of Non-MCQs.

No candidate under any circumstance can switch in between two sections during the exam. For Example, if A is attempting the VRQ section then he/she cannot switch over to QA section during the 1 hour period of attempting the VRQ.
