What is WBJEE 2018?


WBJEE is a state-level common entrance test for admission to a variety of courses such as Pharmacy, Architecture & Engineering. Conducted by West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination Board (WBJEEB) on a yearly basis, WBJEE is used by various Universities, Public & Private colleges of West Bengal state for admission. WBJEE 2018 is set to be conducted on 22nd April 2018. A total of 36,000 seats will be filled by undergraduate engineering, pharmacy, architecture programs in the state of West Bengal.

WBJEE 2018 Exam Date


As per a notice dated 31 August 2017, the WBJEE 2018 will be conducted on 22nd April 2018.

Mode of Answering


In WBJEE 2018, candidates are required to answer the questions on their OMR sheets which is readable by the method of Optical Mark Recognition by specially designed machines only.

Medium of Examination


The WBJEE 2018 exam will be conducted in both English and Bengali language.

WBJEE 2018 Eligibility Criteria


Nationality


Student should be a citizen of India.

Age Limit


Engineering (except Marine Engineering)/Pharmacy/Architecture Courses
  • Age of the student should be minimum 17 years as on 31st December 2018.
  • No upper age limit for WBJEE.
Marine Engineering

For Marine Engineering branch, candidate’s age should be minimum 17 years and maximum 25 years, as measured on 31st December 2018.

Qualifying Examination


Engineering/Architecture

Candidates must have passed the 12th examination with a minimum of 45% aggregate marks (40% for reserved categories) in Physics, Mathematics & Chemistry/Biotechnology/Biology/Computer/Computer Application.

Students must have had Physics, Mathematics, Chemistry/Biotechnology/Biology/Computer/Computer Application and English (with minimum 30% marks) as subjects.

For 5-year architecture courses, candidates must have qualified either NATA or JEE Main 2018 Paper 2.

Pharmacy

Candidates must have passed the 12th examination with a minimum of 45% aggregate marks (40% for reserved categories) in Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics/Biotechnology/Biology/Computer/Computer Application.

Students must have studied the 3 subjects along with English (with minimum 30% marks) in 12th standard.

Calcutta University 


All courses except Jute & Fibre Technology

Applicant must have passed 10+2 examination with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics as subjects. He/She must have scored 60% aggregate (55% for SC/ST/OBC-A/OBC-B/Pwd) in PCM taken together.

Also, he/she must have studied English and must have scored minimum 30% marks.

Jute & Fibre Technology

Applicants must have studied Physics, Mathematics and either of Chemistry or Biotechnology or Biology in 12th standard.

He/She must also have scored 60% (50% for SC/ST/OBC-A/OBC-B/Pwd) marks in these subjects taken together. Also, should have studied English & scored 30% marks in it.

Jadavpur University (For Engineering/Architecture)


Passed 12th standard examination with minimum 60% marks  (45% for Reserve Category Students) in Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics taken together. He/she must also have studied English & scored 30% marks in it.

Also, candidate must have scored minimum 60% marks (45% for Reserve Category Students) in Mathematics at 10+2 level.

For Architecture, student must have qualified NATA 2018 or JEE Main 2018 Paper 2.

West Bengal University of Animal and Fishery Sciences B.Tech (Dairy Technology) 


Candidates must have studied Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics in 12th standard. Also, should have passed the examination and scored minimum 50% marks (40% for reserved category) in above 3 subjects taken together.

Candidates with West Bengal domicile will be considered.

Neotia University (For Engineering)


Candidates must have studied Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics in 12th standard. Also, should have passed the examination and scored minimum 60% marks in above 3 subjects taken together.

In case of Computer Science/Robotics Engg, Computer Science is acceptable as subject in place of Chemistry at 10+2 level.

Further, for Marine Engineering, an additional requirement of 50% in English in compulsory.

Marine Engineering


Must have studied Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics in 12th standard and should have passed the examination and scored minimum 60% marks in above 3 subjects taken together.

Further, an additional requirement of 50% in English at either 10th standard or 12th standard, must also be fulfilled.

Domicile Requirements


There is no residential/domicile requirements in order to APPLY for WBJEE 2018.

However, for ADMISSION in the following courses, candidates need to have a West Bengal domicile:

  • Government/Engineering/Pharmacy/Technology colleges.
  • Reserved seats in any institution including TFW category.

Candidates fulfilling either one criterion of the following domicile criterion will be regarded as a resident of West Bengal:

  • If they are residing in West Bengal for the past 10 years as on 31st December 2017.
  • If the parents of the candidate are permanent residents of West Bengal and have a permanent address within West Bengal.

How to Apply for WBJEE 2018?


WBJEE 2018 registrations are closed now. 

The application is available in ONLINE format only.

Application Fee


The WBJEE 2018 application fees will be Rs. 500 for either Engineering/Architecture/Pharmacy.

The fees can be paid online via:

  • debit/credit card and net banking.
  • e-challan of Allahabad Bank.

Documents to be Uploaded


  • Colored passport-sized photograph – JPEG/JPG format – 3kb – 100kb – 4 cm X 3 cm in dimensions.
  • Left-hand thumb impression
  • Scanned Signature – JPEG/JPG format – 3kb – 30kb – 4 cm X 1.5 cm in dimensions.

Admit Card


WBJEE 2018 admit card were issued on the 10th April 2018 and will be available for download on official website.

WBJEE 2018 Exam Pattern


WBJEE 2018 shall consist of 2 papers as described below.

Paper I: Mathematics.
Paper II: Physics + Chemistry.

Paper I

WBJEE 2018 Mathematics paper will consist of 75 questions. With a duration of  2 hours, the paper shall carry a total of 100 marks. The test will consist of 3 categories of questions – Category I, II & III.

Paper II

WBJEE 2018 Paper II i.e. Physics + Chemistry will consist of 80 questions carrying a combined weightage of 100 marks. The duration shall be 2 hours. The test will consist of 3 categories of questions – Category I, II & III.

Marking Scheme

Category I: Only single correct option – 1 mark for correct answer – deduction of 0.25 marks for wrong answers.

Category II: Only single correct option – 2 marks for correct answer – deduction of 0.5 marks for wrong answers.

Category III: More than one correct option – 2 marks for correct answer – no negative marking.

Results


The WBJEE 2018 results have been declared on 24th May 2018. The candidates will be able to check their results through http://jeerank-2018.wbjeeb.in/rank.

WBJEE 2018 Answer Key


The modal WBJEE 2018 answer key will be published on the official website after the examination. Candidates can challenge the answer key by logging into their account with a password.

With a non-refundable payment of Rs. 500/question via credit/debit card, net banking or e-challan, candidates can challenge the answer key. WBJEEB decision will be final on the answers and no further communication or inquiry will be entertained.

Counselling


The WBJEE 2018 counselling will be held offline in the month of June 2018. Candidates will be called on the basis of the cut-off marks.

All notifications regarding the counseling will be provided online on the official website.  There will be three rounds of counseling. Candidates are required to report with all the necessary documents and their photocopies. The seat will be allotted to the applicants on the basis of their merit and preference.

if i made a single incorrect bubble in my roll no while giving wbjee 2018 ,will it have bad consequences???
