Introduction
XAT 2020 as most famously known by the students across India is a national level management entrance test , which is been conducted every year by XLRI , Jamshedpur on behalf of XAMI .
This exam is taken by those students who aspires for management programs at XLRI and other XAT participating institutions across the country.
Approximately 75,000 to 85,000 students take up the test every year .
XAT 2020 will be conducted on Sunday , January 5, 2020 and the mode of examination will be online .
For more than 60 years, this test has been conducted by XLRI to select and find the most perfect candidate for the management course and this examination has always kept itself updated according to the cutting edge testing methodologies.

Date of Examination
Exam date for XAT 2020 is declared and is going to be conducted on January 5, 2020, Sunday .
Mode of Answering
As stated above XAT is keeps in pace with the cutting edge testing methodologies the exam will be an online based examination.
Medium of Examination
For XAT only medium for examination is English.
Examination Pattern
- XAT 2020 is a computer based examination that will go until for 3 hours .
- The exam sections will namely be Verbal and logical Ability, Decision Making, Quantitative Aptitude and Data Interpretation . This section will have approximately 74 questions and the General Knowledge section will have 25 questions.
- The marking scheme for XAT 2020 is as follows:
- Each question will carry 1 mark .
- 1/4th of the allotted marks to each question , deducted if answered wrongly.
- 0.10 marks deducted if more than 8 questions aren’t answered for each un attempted questions.
XAT Answer Key
The answer key for the MCQs is released a week or two later after the exam , which contains all the answers that will be granted by the Institute as the correct answers.
This answer key is released by the conducting body of XLRI .
If any student finds a certain answer wrong , then it can appeal to the authority regarding it , and thorough check will be done . If the answer is wrong , a new set of answer key is declared.
The basic utility of the answer key is it allows student to tally the answer and check their or rather calculate their estimated scores .
This scores will give them the scope to search for Institutions or College which would accept this scores and prepare themselves accordingly for the counselling round .
If the scores aren’t up to the mark , they can find some other alternatives .
