Introduction

Staff Selection Commission Junior Engineer or SSC JE 2019 is a national-level recruitment exam conducted by the Staff Selection Commission. The exam is conducted for the recruitment of junior engineers (JEs) to be allotted to different departments of Government of India. The SSC JE Recruitment 2019 is a two-stage process comprising of two papers: Paper I & II, meant to test the candidate’s abilities in the field. SSC JE 2019 Important Dates (Tentative)

The schedule for SSC JE 2019 has been tabulated below.

SSC JE 2019 Vacancies

As of now, the last notice regarding the official number of vacancies have been released in the year of 2018; candidates can visit this link to check the latest number of vacancies.

The number of vacancies officially available is 1601 (as per the list of 2018).

However, the official numbers for previous years have been tabulated below.

SSC JE 2019 Exam Date

The exam dates for SSC JE 2019 Paper I will be held from 11 December 2020 for candidates who opted centres in Bihar State and 27-30 October 2020 for rest candidates. ( CBE mode).

SSC JE  2019 Paper II is 31 January 2021 21 March ,2021.

Mode of Answering

SSC JE recruitment 2019 has two papers:

• Paper 1 will be online (computer-based test) of multiple choice questions.
• Paper 2 will be a descriptive type (pen-paper based) exam.

Medium of examination

SSC JE 2019 will be conducted in Hindi and English.

SSC JE 2019 Eligibility Criteria

Various eligibility clauses for SSC JE recruitment have been described below.

Nationality

The people falling in either of the following categories are eligible to apply for SSC JE 2019:

• Citizens of India;
• Subjects of Bhutan;
• Subjects of Nepal;

• Tibetan refugees who permanently settled in India, and arrived before 1^st January 1962;

• People who intended to settle permanently in India and migrated from Burma and East African Countries of Kenya, Ethiopia, Malawi, Pakistan, Sri-Lanka, Uganda, United Republic of Tanzania, Vietnam, Zambia, or Zaire.

Educational Qualification/ Experience (as on 1^st January 2020)

The minimum qualification to appear for SSC JE 2019 is BE/B. Tech./Diploma in Engineering from any recognized Institute/University.

The detailed educational qualifications are given below. Degrees/Diplomas obtained in any of the courses must be recognized by any recognized University/Institution.

 Note :- (i) Essential Educational Qualifications/ Experience as on 01-01-2020 will be the cut off date. Candidates not adhering to this date will be considered disqualified.

(ii) The posts requiring experiences, such experience must be acquired by the candidates after completing educational qualification as specified for the concerned post.Further, internship, training, research experience, etc gained in the course of acquiring an educational qualification will not be counted as experience.

SSC JE 2019 Age  (As on 01st January 2020)

The age limit applicable for various posts of SSC JE 2019 are tabulated.

Relaxation in age limit according to the category is tabulated below:

Note:-      Age relaxation is not admissible to sons, daughters and dependents of Ex Servicemen. Therefore, such candidates should not indicate their category as Ex Servicemen.

Application Fee

Aspirants from the General and OBC category must pay a fee of ₹100.

All other categories and female candidates are exempted from any fees.

Modes of payment are mentioned below:

• SBI Branches by generating SBI Challan.

• Net-banking BHIM UPI, Net Banking or by using Visa, Mastercard, Maestro, RuPay Credit or Debit card
  

  Centres of Examination

    Documents to be Uploaded

The following documents must be kept at-hand while filling the SSC JE 2019 online application form:

• Scanned copy of Photograph – JPEG – 4-12 kb – 100 x 120 pixels.
• Scanned signature – JPEG format – 11-12 kb – 40 x 60 pixels.

SSC JE 2019 Application Process

There will be no offline registration for SSC JE 2019.

Candidates have to apply online for SSC JE through the official website.

Application portal has been opened on 13 August 2019 and will close on 12 September 2019 ( 5:00 pm).

For filling the application log on  at site   https://ssc.nic.in/

Create one time User id and password by logging in.

Following documents are to be kept in readiness :-

a. Mobile Number (to be verified through OTP).
b. Email ID (to be verified through OTP).
c. Aadhaar Number. If Aadhaar Number is not available, please give
one of the following ID Numbers. (You will be required to show the
original document at a later stage):
i. Voter ID Card
ii. PAN
iii. Passport
iv. Driving License
v. School/ College ID
vi. Employer ID (Govt./ PSU/ Private)
d. Information about the Board, Roll Number and Year of Passing the
Matriculation (10th) Examination.
e. Scanned colour passport size recent photograph in JPEG format (20
KB to 50 KB). Image dimension of the photograph should be about
3.5 cm (width) x 4.5 cm (height). Applications with blurred
photograph will be rejected.
f. Scanned signature in JPEG format (10 to 20 KB). Image dimension
of the signature should be about 4.0 cm (width) x 3.0 cm (height).
Applications with blurred signature will be rejected.
g. Disability Certificate Number, if you are a person with benchmark disability.

Admit Card 

Admit cards for Paper 1 of SSC JE 2019 will be released online from 13 October 2020/ 19 Oct 2020 . Go on link:

SSC JE admit card 2019 for Paper 2 is expected to be released in the 3^rd week of March 2020. Notified later on.

Candidates must download it and are requested to bring ID proof such as Aadhar card, Voter ID, Driving License, PAN card, etc. along with the admit card to the exam centre.

SSC JE 2019 Exam Pattern

Examination pattern for SSC JE Recruitment 2019 has been described for both the papers in the following paragraphs.

Paper 1

• Duration: The exam duration will be two hours.
• Type of Questions: Only objective type (MCQ) questions will be asked in the exam.
• Total marks: 200
• Marking Scheme: 0.25 marks will be deducted for each wrong answer.

The section-wise marks distribution for the exam is as follows:

Paper 2

  Note :-  (i) 2 hours and 40 minutes for the candidates who are allowed use of
              scribe as per Para 9.2 of official Bro chure.

               (ii)  Candidates who clear Paper 1 are eligible for Paper 2.

          For the Paper II  of SSC JE 2019, the exam pattern has been detailed               below:

• Duration: The exam duration will be two hours.
• Type of Questions: Descriptive type questions will be asked in the exam.
• Maximum marks: 300 marks.

       Papers of respective branches are as under:-

• General Engineering – (Civil & Structural)
• General Engineering – (Electrical)
• General Engineering – (Electrical)

Candidates must answer according to the respective discipline of Engineering .

SSC JE 2019 Answer Key

SSC JE answer key 2019 for Paper 1 is expected to be released on the official website within a few weeks of the examination.

Results

SSC JE result 2019 for Paper 1 will be announced online on the official website during the 2^nd week of December 2019.

The final SSC JE result 2019 after Paper 2 will be announced during the 1^st week of May 2020.

Candidates will be selected based on their performance in both the papers.
