Introduction
SSC (State Selection Commission) is an important organization conducting government exams in India for the subordinate recruitments. SSC conducts a National level examination called CGL (Combined Graduate Level), every year, for recruitment of various non-gazetted posts in different Ministries/Departments/Organizations of the Government of India and their offices. Around 20 to 30 lakh people register for SSC CGL every year out of which around 10 to 15 lakh people take the exam. The SSC CGL 2019 notification has been published on 22 October 2019.

SSC CGL 2019 Exam Date
As per the latest notice from SSC, the exam date for CGL 2019 (Tier I) will be held on 02 March to 11 March 2020.
SSC CGL (Tier II) 2019 Exam Date ( computer based exam) : 2.11.2020 to 5.11.2020 15.11.2020 to 18.11.2020

Mode of Answering
CGL 2019 Tier I and Tier II exam will be conducted in online mode as a Computer-Based Exam ( CBE) while Tier 3 is a pen/paper mode Descriptive Test, and Tier 4 is a Skill-Based Test to check the Data Entry Speed/Computer Proficiency (wherever applicable).
Medium of Examination
SSC CGL 2019 will be conducted in Hindi, and English.
SSC CGL Eligibility Criteria
The eligibility criteria for CGL exam 2019 has been described below, clause by clause.
CGL 2019 Age Limit
Candidate’s age must fall in between 18 to 32 years (as on 1st January 2020) in order to apply for CGL exam. Further, age limits are also dictated by the post they apply for.

- Candidates who had ordinarily been domiciled in the State of Jammu & Kashmir during the period from 1st January 1980 to 31st December 1989 also got age relaxation of 5 Years.
- Date of Birth filled by the candidate in the online application form and the same recorded in the Matriculation/ Secondary Examination Certificate will be accepted by the Commission for determining the age and no subsequent request for change will be considered or granted.

Nationality
A candidate must hold either of the following nationality to be eligible to apply for SSC CGL exam:
- an Indian citizen, or
- a subject of Nepal, or
- a Bhutanese subject, or
- a Tibetan refugee who came to India prior to 1st January 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India, or
- a migrant of Indian origin from the East African Countries of Kenya, the United Republic of Tanzania (Formerly Tanganyika and Zanzibar), Uganda, Zambia, Malawi, Ethiopia, Zaire, or from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, and Vietnam who migrated with the intention of permanently settling in India.

Note: Candidates currently in the final year or final semester of the above Qualifying Examinations can also apply , however they must posses the qualification as on 01 -01-2020 .
Physical Fitness: Candidates applying for the posts of Inspector (Central Excise/ Examiner/Preventive Officer), Sub-Inspector in CBI (Central Bureau of Investigation) and Sub-Inspector in NIA (National Investigation Agency) must qualify certain Physical requirements. For details, Information Bulletin of SSC may be referred.
Application fee
Application fee for SSC CGL 2019 can be paid either by online transaction or offline mode using the e-challan.
The application fee for various categories is tabulated below:

Fee can be paid by following modes:
- BHIM UPI,
- Net Banking or by using Visa, Mastercard,
Maestro, RuPay Credit or Debit card, or - In cash at SBI Branches by generating SBI Challan.
Note : Online fee can be paid by the candidates up to 27-11-2019 (5:00 pm). However, to make the payment through challan , may make the payment at designated branches of State Bank Of India ( SBI) within the working hours of bank up to 29-11-2019 subject to that challan has been generated by them before 27-11-2019 (5:00 pm).
Documents to be uploaded
Candidates must keep the following documents at hand while filling the SSC CGL 2019 application form:
- Scanned Passport sized photograph – between 20-50 kb – JPG format
Image dimension of the photograph should be 3.5 cm (width) and 4.5 cm ( height)
- Scanned Signature – between 10-20 kb – JPEG format (Image dimension of the signature should be 4.0 cm (width) and 3.0 cm ( height)
How to Apply for SSC CGL 2019 ?
Candidates can only apply only through online application process for the combined graduation level exam.
The application portal shall start working from the 22 Oct 2019. The last date to apply for the exam shall be 25th Nov 2019.
For filling on line application , the process will be broadly in two steps:
1 Registration ( One Time)
2 Filling of on line application ( After Registration)
Documents/ Information to be kept in readiness
Before starting for One-Time Registration, following information and documents are to be kept in readiness:
(i) email ID ( which is will be verified through OTP).
(ii) Mobile Number (which is will be verified through OTP)
(iii) Aadhaar Number. If Aadhaar Number is not available, then , give one out of the following Id Numbers.
(a) PAN
(b) Voter ID Card
(c) Passport
(d) School/ College ID
(e) Driving License
(f) Employer ID (Govt./ PSU/ Private)
(g) Scanned coloured photograph ( As per details given above) (h) Scanned copy of signature ( As per details given above)
(i) Information about the Board, Roll Number and Year of Passing the
Secondary School Examination i.e.Matriculation (10th) Examination.
(j) Disability Certificate Number, if candidate is with benchmark disability.
1 For One-Time Registration
- Log on link http://ssc.nic.in.
- Click on ” Registration Now” in Log in section
- Fill in the all basic details :
- mother’s name ( given in Matriculation certificate)
- father’s name (given in Matriculation certificate)
- date of birth (given in Matriculation certificate)
- Name of 10th class Board
- Roll Number
- Year of passing
- Highest Qualification
- Mobile number
- Email Id
- Gender
- Permanent Address with state/UT
- After saving basic details, again provide mobile number and email Id for confirmation and on confirmation by the candidate, a Registration Number will appear on screen.
- Then, log in with the received Registration Number as username and click.
- A auto generated password will be sent on the registered mobile number and email.
- Then , password is to be changed by you when you go for your first log in.
- After successful change of password, again candidate has to login using registration number and changed password.
- and Password will be sent to you on your given mobile number and Email ID.
- On successful login, information about the “Basic Details” filled so far will be displayed. Candidate may edit it, if required or ,if correct may proceed further by clicking on ”Next“button at the bottom.
- Thus, your one-time Registration will be completed.
- Further,
- In Sl 11 : Information about category to be filled in.
- Sl 12 : Nationality to be filled in.
- Sl 13 : Visible Identification mark is to be entered.
- Sl 14 : Benchmark disability if any to be provided. If candidate is
suffering from any specific benchmark disability which is identified suitable for Government jobs, then, provide Disability Certification Number - Sl 15-18 : Permanent and present address to be filled in.
- Save the data and further proceed to last Part of the Registration Process.
- Sl 19-20 : Upload your recent photograph and signature as detailed above.
- Further,Save the provided information.
- Take printout and review and re verify the information provided thoroughly, before “Final Submit’‘
- If, information are correct, then, click ” Final submit”.
- on clicking ” Final submit”, different OTPs will be sent on registered mobile number and Email ID.
- Candidate need to enter one of the two OTPs at given designated field to complete the Registration Process.
- Further thoroughly read the”Declaration‟ carefully, if you agree with the declaration, then,click ”I Agree”
- Thus, Registration is completed.
Note : (i) On completion of registration process,”Basic Details”can be changed only twice , therefore ,all precautions and correct information to be filled in in .
(ii) User Id and password to be kept safely and secretly as these will be required in thorough out selection process.
2 Filling of on line application ( After Registration)
(i) Log on link http://ssc.nic.in.
(ii) Login by entering registration number and pass word .
(iii) Click ”Apply” link in ”Combined Graduate Level Examination 2019” section under ”Latest Notifications” tab.
(iv) Column Sl 1 to 14 : Information in columns at S No-1 to 14 will be automatically generated from candidature’s data held in One-time Registration . These automatically generated data are non-editable.
(v) Sl 15 : Select ”Yes”, if, candidate belongs to Economically Weaker Section (EWS).
(vi) Sl No-16: Provide 03 numbers Examination Centers in order of preference. Candidate may choose examination Centers within the same Region. Information bulletin of SSC will be referred for this.
(v) Rest other information , as applicable, from S No 17 to 25 will be filled in.
(vi) S No 26 to 28 will directly be generated from registration data.
(vii) Read the declarations carefully and click on ”I agree” check box if, you accept the same. Enter Captcha text.
(vii) Verify the information provided by you by previewing the entered data and , then, Submit the Application
(viii) Make payment of fee as detailed above , if candidate not exempted.
(ix) On successfully submission of the application,, it will be accepted ‘Provisionally’. It is advised that Candidate should take printout of the application form for their own records and reference purpose.
Admit Card
Candidates who have registered successfully for the SSC CGL 2019 test will be allotted admit cards for Tier-1 examination one month before the actual date of examination.
Admit card for Tier-2 will be released after the results of Tier-1 is published has been released. Candidates can access their admit cards online by providing their login credentials on regional web sites.
How to Download SSC CGL Admit Card 2018?
Following are the simple steps to download your SSC CGL ( Tier I) region wise Admit Card 2018 directly through following link.
- Click on the “Admit Card” Tab in the Top menu.
- A dialog box will pop up with a list of different SSC regions. Choose the appropriate region as per your location and click on the link in the last column.
- Locate the “Download Admit Card” button on the site and choose “SSC CGL Admit card 2018”. Enter your details like Roll Number and Registration Number and log in to the portal.
- Your SSC CGL Admit Card bearing Venue and Time of the Examination will be displayed.
- Print the Admit Card and preserve it for further usage.

Examination Pattern
The pattern for SSC CGL 2019 examination has been described below for each tier.
Tier I
- Duration: The exam duration will be one hour.
- Type of Questions: Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ)
- Total marks: 200
- Total Number of questions asked: 100
- Sections: 4
- Marking Scheme: 2 marks will be awarded for each correct answer. Negative marking of 0.5 will be applied for each wrong answer.
Tier II
- Duration: The exam duration will be two hours.
- Type of Question: Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ)
- Total marks for each paper: 200
- Total Number of questions asked in each paper: 100
- Papers: 4
Tier III
- Duration: The exam duration will be one hour.
- Type of Question: Descriptive Type Questions (Essay/Letter/Application/Precis)
- Total marks: 100
Tier IV
Test 1: Data Entry Speed Test- Compulsory for all posts except Compiler
Test 2: Computer Proficiency Test- For the post of Inspector (Preventive officer), Assistants of CSS, MEA (Assistant), Inspector (Central Excise), and Inspector (Examiner) [CBEC].
Results
SSC will announce the result after completion of each tier test. At the end of each test based on the results, only the candidates who are selected will be allowed to attend the next test.
