Introduction

PEC University of Technology (shortly PEC Chandigarh) is a deemed university and technical institution offering various UG and PG courses in Engineering and Technology.  In 2003, it was recognized as a deemed university and in 2009, it acquired its current name. It has been honoured as a best technical institution in 1993 and also received several honours over the years. The Institute currently offers UG, PG and doctorate programs in Engineering studies only. It is called PEC Chandigarh by students and residents alike.

PEC Chandigarh Location 

PEC Chandigarh is located in Sector-12, Chandigarh. The institute is located adjacent to Punjab University and the Punjab and Haryana Secretariat.

The city has bus as well as train connections from outer cities. For travel within the city, buses and cabs are available.

The nearest railway station is at 10 km from the campus which is the Chandigarh Railway station.

The Chandigarh airport is about 25 kms from the institute campus.

PEC Chandigarh Ranking

PEC Chandigarh is one of the oldest institutes to offer engineering and hence has a high reputation. It is usually well-ranked within top-50 but somehow slipped in the recent NIRF rankings.

Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech)

B.Tech. admissions are through the JEE exam scores followed by JAC (Joint Admission Committee) Counselling for Chandigarh state.

PEC Chandigarh Campus

Spread over 146 acres around the Shivalik hills, PEC Chandigarh campus includes academic blocks that have lecture halls, conference halls and labs, the Girls & boys hostels, residential facilities for faculty, a shopping centre, an SBI bank and a post office. The hostels for men are named Aravalli, Himalaya, Kurukshetra and Shivalik. Each can accommodate around 100 students. The women hostels accommodation is, 55 in Kalpana Chawla hostel and 280 in the Vindhya hostel. There are mess facilities available as well as outer canteens in the campus for food. 

Internet is offered through the campus Wi-Fi as well as in the computer labs. Sports facilities include amenities for playing football, squash and tennis and other sports. There is also a swimming pool and a gymnasium. Conclusively, following facilities can be found on PEC Chandigarh campus:
