Introduction


MICAT or MICA Admission Test is a national-level management entrance test conducted by MICA Ahmedabad. MICAT exam is used by MICA for admitting candidates to its PGDM programs. Unlike other MBA entrance exams, MICAT is held twice a year with candidates possessing the liberty of taking both the tests, out of which the best performance is considered. MICAT 2019 official notification will tentatively be released in the 4th week of Sept 2018. Final admissions through MICAT 2019 involve two stages: the entrance test (MICAT) and GE-PI round.

MICAT 2019 Exam Date


MICAT 2019 (01) Exam will be held in the 2nd week of Dec 2018 and MICAT 2019 (02) Exam Date will fall in the 2nd week of February 2019.

Mode of Answering


MICAT exam will be an online computer based examination only.

Medium of Examination


MICAT exam 2019 will be conducted in English language only.

Eligibility Criteria


The eligibility criteria for MICAT 2019 are as described below.

Qualifying Examination


The candidate must hold a bachelor’s degree or an equivalent in any discipline, accredited by the Association of Indian Universities (AIU), to get admission to the PGDM-C programme.

Appearing Candidates


Candidates appearing in the final examination of the bachelor’s degree or equivalent are also eligible to apply.

MICAT 2019 Registration


MICAT 2019 registrations are currently closed.

The application forms for MICAT 2019 will be available from the 4th week of September 2018 while MICAT 2 2019 forms shall be available from the 1st week of January 2019.

MICAT 2019 Admit card


MICAT 1 2019 Exam Admit Card will be available from the 2nd week of December 2018.

However, MICAT 2019 (02) Exam Admit Card will be available from 2nd week of February 2019.

The MICAT hall tickets can only be downloaded on or before the exam date and will be available on https://www.mica.ac.in/.

MICAT Examination Pattern


MICAT 2019 will be a 2 hour 45 minutes long test. Unlike lot of other MBA entrance tests in India, MICAT exam pattern changes every year with no fixed number of questions or marking scheme.

Further, MIC Ahmedabad also adds new sections/subjects in the MICAT exam from time to time.

The exam pattern followed in MICAT II 2018 has been explained below for a general idea.

MICAT II 2018 contained around 140-150 questions from following 6 sections:

  1. Psychometric (P), – 36 MCQs
  2. Verbal ability (VA), – 25 MCQs
  3. Quantitative ability and Data Interpretation (QA-DI), – 25 MCQs
  4. General awareness (GA), – 25 MCQs
  5. Divergent and Convergent Thinking (DCT), and – 30 MCQs
  6. Descriptive Test (DT) – 4 Qs

The complete MICAT test is divided into three parts:

  • Part 1 consists of the Descriptive Test having duration of 35 minutes;
  • Part 2 consists of Divergent and Convergent Thinking (DCT), General Awareness (GA), Verbal Ability (VA), Quantitative Ability and Data Interpretation (QADI) and
  • Part 3 consists of Psychometric (P) tests.

All the questions in the psychometric part are compulsory and should be attempted to make sure that your paper is evaluated.

Every incorrect answer from the student met with -1/4th mark of the mark allotted to specific question. 

MICAT 2019 Results


MICAT I 2019 scorecard will be published in the 1st week of January 2019 while MICAT II 2019 scorecard will be declared in the 4th week of Feb 2019 on their official website.

Candidates are shortlisted for the GE/PI rounds based on his/her performance in MICAT 01/02 or on best of both the performances.

The MICAT 2019 final results will be released in the 4th week of March 2019.

Counselling


Applicants are called for Group Exercise (GE) and Personal Interview (PI) on the basis of their performance in CAT/XAT/GMAT or MICA Admission Test (MICAT). GE and PI will be held at Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Delhi, Kolkata and Mumbai.
