What is MHT CET?


MHT CET is an annually-held state-level common entrance test organized by the Directorate of Technical Education (DTE) for admission to various UG/PG courses in both Govt./Private institutions across Maharashtra. The MHT CET entrance exam is an eligibility test for admission to Pharmacy, Engineering, Agriculture, Fisheries Science/Dairy Technology courses in the state of Maharashtra. With over 4.2 million registrations in 2019, MHT CET 2019 application portal closed registrations on 31st Mar 2019 for all the courses.

This article focuses on MHT CET 2019 for Engineering only.

MHT CET 2019 Exam Date


MHT CET will be held tentatively from 2nd May to 13th May 2019 through online mode (Computer based Test). The questions will be based on Syllabus of Maharashtra State board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education.

Type of Examination


The examination shall be conducted as a Computer-based test across all districts and exam centers in the state of Maharashtra.

Mode of Examination


Question paper medium shall be either English or Marathi or Urdu. However, for Mathematics the question paper shall be in English only.

MHT CET Eligibility Criteria


Engineering/Technology Courses


  • Candidates should be Indian National.
  • There is no age limit for this examination.
  • Candidates must have passed the class 12th exam or HSC examination with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects and Chemistry/ Biotechnology/ Biology/Technical Vocational subject and must have scored minimum 50% marks (45% for reserved category students) in these 3 subjects taken together.

OR

  • Passed Diploma in Engineering & Technology with minimum 50% marks (45% for reserved categories)

OR

  • Passed B.Sc from a recognized university in India with at least 50% marks (45% for reserved category).

Candidates applying under the Maharashtra candidature must appear for MHT CET. However, those candidates who wish to apply under the All India Quota can choose to appear for either JEE Main or MHT CET 2019.

MHT CET 2019 Application Form


MHT CET 2019 application form shall be available through online medium only.

The registration for 2019 MHT CET have closed on 31st Mar 2019 for all courses.

Application forms were available from 1st January to 31st March 2019.

Application Fee


The application fee is given below:

The fee can be paid through online mode only. Following methods can be used:

  • Credit / Debit card,
  • Net banking.

Fees once paid will not be refundable under any circumstances.

Documents to be Uploaded


The following documents must be uploaded in order to register for MHT CET:

  • Colored photograph
    • Format- JPG only
    • Size- 15 – 50 kb
    • Light/white background
    • Scanned/Digital.
  • Signature
    • Format- JPG only
    • Size- 5 – 20 kb with 200 dpi
    • White paper with black ink pen
    • Scanned/Digital

Application Procedure


An applicant can submit the online MHT CET 2019 application form in 4 steps. They are –

  • Step 1: Registering for MHT CET.
  • Step 2: Uploading the Photograph and Signature.
  • Step 3: Payment of the Application Fee.
  • Step 4: MHT CET Application Form Submission.

MHT CET 2019 Admit Card


Applicants who will successfully apply for the entrance exam will be able to access their MHT CET 2019 admit card from 25th April to 2nd May, 2019.

The admit card will be made available on the official website.

The candidates will need to take a print out of the MHT CET hall ticket 2019 and retain one copy for future reference. Along with the admit card, the candidate must carry a valid photo ID proof to the examination centre.

MHT CET Exam Pattern


The MHT CET 2019 examination for Engineering shall comprise of 2 sections:

  • Mathematics
  • Physics + Chemistry.

Type of Questions – All the questions will be multiple choice questions (MCQs).

Total Marks – The question paper will be of 300 marks.

Total Number of Questions – The total number of questions asked will be 150.

Paper I: Mathematics


The mathematics paper will have 50 questions in total over a duration of 90 minutes.

Each question will carry 2 marks making the total marks 100.

Out of 50 questions, 40 will be based on 12th std syllabus while 10 questions will be drawn from 11th std syllabus.

Paper II: Physics & Chemistry


The paper II will have 100 questions in total. Both Physics & Chemistry will have equal weightage, with 50 questions being drawn from each subject.

Each question will carry 1 mark.

MHT CET 2019 Results


MHT CET 2019 result has been declared on 4th June 2019. The result will be declared on the official website. The candidate can check the result by logging in with the valid credentials.

The result will be in the form of a score card which can also be downloaded. The candidates are advised to retain a copy of the result for future reference.

Only the candidates who qualify the entrance exam will be called for the counseling process.

MHT CET 2019 Counselling


Maharashtra State Common Entrance Test Cell will organize MHT CET 2019 counselling for admission to the multiple programs included under MHT CET. The counselling will be organized via online mode. The admission will be made as per the merit, availability of seats, eligibility requirements, etc. Applicants should have the required original certificates during document verification process. Applicants must register themselves for MHT CET 2019 counselling on the official website and choose their institutes and courses as per their preference. The dates for counselling has not yet been declared on the official site.

  • Class 10th Mark-sheet and Passing certificate
  • Class 12th Mark-sheet and Passing certificate
  • MHT CET Admit Card 2019
  • MHT CET Score Card 2019
  • Residence Certificate
  • Category Certificate (if applicable)
  • Transfer Certificate
  • Aadhaar Card.

The institute wise cut off lists for Engineering seats in MHT CET 2018 have been uploaded on the official website by the conducting authority. The counseling for MHT CET 2018 concluded in 4 rounds.

Ques. Is MHT CET cancelled for Engineering?
Answer: No. At least not for 2019.
Ques. Will MHT CET be conducted for 2019?
Answer: Yes. MHT CET 2019 shall be conducted between 2nd May and 13th May 2019. The registrations have closed on 31st March 2019.
Ques. Is MHT CET conducted for M.B.B.S admissions in Maharashtra?
Answer: No. M.B.B.S admissions in India based on NEET UG examination only.
