Introduction

IIM Kashipur was set up in the year 2011 by the Government of India for providing quality management education and to cater to the growing demand among students in India. This second-generation IIM has shown immense growth over the past few years and has also exhibited a good track record of placements to the students.

Location

Kashipur is situated in the state of Uttarakhand and is the sixth most populous city in the state. It is extremely famous for its religious places. It is well connected by railway networks with major cities of India.

The campus is situated at a distance of 62 kms from the nearest airport (Pantnagar Airport) and the travel time is approximately 1 hour 30 minutes to reach the campus.

The closest railway station to the campus is the Kashipur Junction Railway station which is at a distance of 9 kms from campus and takes about 20 minutes to reach the campus.

Ranking

IIM Kashipur has been ranked 33rd rank among all the B-schools in the NIRF Rankings 2021. Apart from that, the institute has obtained 16th rank in Outlook ICARE rankings.

Admission Procedure

The admission process for the PGP program is similar to all other IIMs, and the students need to take a CAT exam and also should have either completed their Bachelor’s degree or be in their final year of their Bachelor’s degree while writing the CAT Exam.

After taking the CAT exam, aspirants will have to appear for an interview based on shortlisting from various criteria like the performance in the 10th, and 12th exams, UG score, and gender diversity factor as well. The weightage for each of these factors varies every year depending upon the candidate pool available to the college.

Selection Criteria for PGP admissions – Indian Institute of Management, Kashipur

There are two stages of selection:

  1. Shortlisting candidates based on their CAT Scores, 10th, and 12th board marks for PI.
  2. Final Selection on the basis of PI.

The first basis of shortlisting candidates is through their CAT Score, 10th and 12th board marks. Along with the overall CAT Score, section-wise scores are also considered while shortlisting candidates.

The first list of shortlisted candidates for the interview stage is prepared based on discussions by 9 IIMs together and they conduct a process called as CAP (Common Admission Process) for PI.

Final Selection Criteria

For the final selection, the shortlisted candidates are required to take an interview through CAP, and during the interview, the candidate’s academic performance, knowledge of concepts in the bachelor’s degree, and prior work experience (if applicable) will be judged.

Scholarships

1. Central Sector Scholarship Scheme of Top-Class Education for Scheduled Castes Students –

This scholarship is provided to students of scheduled caste by the Ministry of social justice and empowerment.

Also, the institute provides scholarships to 46 students annually from both 1st and 2nd year students in the following categories.

Campus

To complement the academic rigour, the institute has a picturesque campus spread over 200 acres with state-of-the-art infrastructure. The college has 3 hostels to house the accommodation needs of the students studying on campus for both girls and boys. It also has 24-hour Wi-Fi facility along with a cafeteria, auditorium, and gym for recreational activities as well.

The sports complex has various facilities like Basketball Court, Badminton Court, Cricket Ground, Football Ground, Volleyball, Table Tennis. The library also has a collection of over 5000 books and many e-resources for research purposes.
