Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman and Diu is a Union Territory which is made in 2020. Before that, Dadra and Nagar Haveli were separated from Daman and Diu. This UT is around 1207 km. away from our capital and consists of 0.03% population in India. This UT is quite significant to read because of its interesting history.

1 History1.1 Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman and Diu UT was created through the merger of the former union territories of Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman and Diu on 26th January, 2020.
1.2 The territory is made up of four separate geographical entities Dadra, Nagar Haveli, Daman and the island of Diu. All four areas were part of Portuguese India with the capital in Velha Goa, they came under Indian administration in the mid-20th century after the Annexation of Goa.
2 Geography2.1 Climate:
(i) The climate is typical of the region. Summers are hot, with the mean temperatures in May typically rising into the low 90s F (mid-30s C).
(ii) Annual rainfall averages about 120 inches (3,050 mm), most of it falling between June and September.

2.2 Agriculture:
(i) Much cultivation is done on terraced land. Rice and ragi (also called finger millet) are the major food crops. ‘
(ii) Wheat and sugarcane are also grown.

2.3 Natural Resources:
Timber production is mainly centred on the valuable native teak.

Paradise Flycatcher, Openbill Stork, Cheetal Deer, Kites, Snakes, Blue Bull, Grasshopper, Peafowl, Mantis, Spider and different types of butterfly species.

Located in between Gujarat and Maharashtra. Also Arabian Sea coast is there.

4.2 Industries:
Major industries are as under: –
(i) Dadra & Nagar Haveli and Daman & Diu are leaders in plasticisers and contributes to 28% of India’s plastic production in the form of aerospace, households, medical, green houses, defence and non-conventional energy.
(ii) Dadra & Nagar Haveli and Daman & Diu leads in integrated textile plants and polyester hub and accounts for 80% of India’s texturising yarn production.
(iii) The marine catch comprises oil sardines, shrimps, Indian mackerel, Bombay duck, croakers, cephalopods, other sardines and threadfin breams.
