Introduction
AILET stands for All India Law Entrance Test and is a national-level law entrance exam conducted by the National Law University every year. Many top law colleges like National Law University, Bharati Vidyapeeth Deemed University, New Law College, IFIM Law College among other accept AILET scores. AILET 2019 scores are basis for admission to courses such as B.A., LL.B. (Hons.), Ph.D. and LL.M at various law college in India. The notification for the AILET 2019 exams is expected to be released by January 2019.

AILET is a pen-paper based examination and OMR sheets are used to mark the responses.
Medium of Examination
AILET 2019 is conducted in English language only and there are no other languages available.

The exam date for AILET 2019 is expected to fall in the 1st week of May 2019.

AILET 2019 Eligibility Criteria
The eligibility criteria for AILET 2019 entrance exam has been detailed below.
Eligibility Criteria for [BA.LL. B (Hons.)]
- Candidates should have passed the 10+2 examination and scored a minimum of 50%.
- However, candidates appearing for 10+2 examinations in the year of the AILET can also apply, provided they meet the above eligibility at the time of admission.
Eligibility Criteria for LL.M.
- Candidates should have a minimum of 55% marks in LL. B. or an equivalent degree. Candidates can also appear if they are appearing for the final examination of LL.B. or equivalent degree in that year.
- 50% marks in case of SC/ST/ Persons with Disabilities
Eligibility Criteria for Ph.D.
- Obtained a L.L.M degree from any recognized university with at least 55% marks in aggregate.
- 5% of marks can be relaxed if the candidate belongs to SC/ST/OBC (non-creamy layer)/Differently-abled.
AILET 2019 Age Limit
No age restrictions are present for AILET aspirants.
AILET 2019 Application Form
AILET 2019 registrations will begin from 1st week of January 2019. The candidates can apply online for AILET 2019 only from the official website.
Forms for AILET 2019 will be available in digital format only.

The application fee for AILET 2019 can be paid either offline though post office deposits or online through debit, credit cards or net banking.

- Color photograph – 75% of the photograph must cover the candidate’s face – should be between 10 – 100 kB – JPG/JPEG/BMP Format only.

Steps of Application
Step I
The first step is to create an account if you are applying for AILET for the first time. Once you click “Create account button” you will be asked to enter necessary details like your name, e-mail ID, mobile number, DOB, Father’s name, Mothers’ name, Address etc.
Enter these details and click on Registration Button.
Step II
You will need to confirm the registration details by clicking the confirm button.
Step III
The next step is to select the required college from the list of colleges displayed. Click on NATIONAL LAW UNIVERSITY “NLU” to proceed.
Step IV
Once the college is picked the next step is to select the course as per the requirements. The different courses provided are BA.LL. B (Hons.)], Ph.D. and LL.M.
Step V
In the next window, you will need to upload documents like Photograph and signature as per the requirements mentioned above. Apart from that you need to choose the DOB, Religion, Nationality, and Choice of Examination Centre.
Step VI
The last step involves filling up your academic details of X, Senior Secondary, and other degrees (if applicable). Once you complete this click on “Save / Continue to Payment” to complete the payment process.
You can also save the application form if you wish to pay later. Finally download the acknowledgment receipt.
AILET 2019 Admit Card
The Admit Card for AILET 2019 will be issued by NLU in the 2nd week of April. This admit card is available only on the website.
You will need to log in to your account with e-mail ID, password, and DOB to download your admit card.
AILET 2019 Pattern
For B.A LL.B. (Hons.) Programme
For this program, the duration of the AILET exam will be 1 hour 30 minutes.
There will be 5 sections with a total of 150 questions and their mark distribution are as follows:

General Knowledge | 35 marks |
Legal Aptitude | 35 marks |
Reasoning, | 35 marks |
Elementary Mathematics (Numerical Ability) | 10 marks |
Each question will carry 1 mark and incorrect answer will result in deduction of 0.25 mark.
LL.M. Programme
There are 100 multiple choice Objective Type Questions of one mark each which has to be answered in the OMR Sheet.
The duration will be 1 hour 30 minutes for the entrance test.
There is One Essay Question of 50 Marks which has to be answered in Separate Sheet.
Ph.D. Programme
There will be 100 multiple choice Objective Type Questions of one mark each which has to be answered in the OMR Sheet.
AILET 2019 Result
AILET 2019 results will be declared in the 4th week of May for [BA.LL. B (Hons.)] candidates, 1st week of July for LLM candidates, and 3rd week of July for Ph.D. candidates.
The results will be available online and can be checked by logging in to the candidate’s account.
Counselling
The counselling will mostly likely being on the last week of June and the interviews will be conducted by the end of July. The counselling process will in person only and the candidates need to be present on the spot for the process. The candidates should bring important documents like academic certificate and marksheets, birth certificate, proof of residence, etc.
