Introduction

Xavier Aptitude Test or XAT is a university-level management entrance examination conducted by XLRI, Jamshedpur on behalf of the Xavier Association of Management Institutes (XAMI) every year. XAT 2019 scores will be used by more than 150 management institutes across India for MBA/PGDM admission and other management courses. Almost a lakh aspirants appear for XAT every year. XAT 2019 official notification has been published on the 14th August 2019.

XAT 2019 Important Dates (Tentative)

XAT 2019 Exam Date

The exam date for XAT 2019 is 6th January 2019.

Mode of Answering

XAT 2019, much like previous years, shall be a computer-based test (CBT) only.

Medium of Examination

The language medium of examination will be strictly ENGLISH.

XAT 2019 Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification

• Candidate must hold a bachelor degree of minimum 3 years duration from any institute in any discipline.

• Students who are pursuing the final year of their bachelor’s degree or any equivalent course can also apply.

• NRI and foreign students can also apply through GMAT score.

Age limit

There is no age limit applicable for XAT 2019.

XAT Application Form 2019

XAT Registrations 2019 are currently closed. 

The XAT application form 2019 shall be completely ONLINE.

The forms will be available from 20th August 2018 with last date being on 20th November 2018.

XAT 2019 Admit Card

XAT 2019 admit card can be downloaded through online mode via the official website. The cards are expected to be available from 20th December 2018.

The admit card will carry various personal details, time, date of the exam, exam centre etc. It will also have various important instructions regarding the exam.  It is mandatory to bring the admit card to the exam hall.

XAT 2019 Exam Pattern

XAT 2019 exam will have 3.5 hours time span. The exam paper will be divided into 2 parts –

1. Paper 1 &
2. Paper 2.

Paper 1: General Aptitude Test (GAT)

XAT 2019 paper I shall consist of 72 questions and will be of 170 minutes’ duration. The paper I of XAT 2018 further comprises of 3 sections:

Section I: Decision Making.
Section II: English Language & Logical Test.
Section III: Quantitative test.

Every correct answer by the candidate will be rewarded with 1 mark while a wrong answer results in penalty of 0.25 mark for each incorrect answer.

Paper – 2: Essay Writing & GK Test

XAT 2019 second paper will have 25 questions and will be of 35 minutes’ duration. The paper II is divided into 2 sections:

Section 1: Essay Writing.
Section 2: General Knowledge.

Negative marking is non-existent in paper II. Similar to paper I, however, 1 mark shall be awarded for each correct answer.

Syllabus

The syllabus will comprise of topics from Decision making, analytical reasoning, verbal ability, quantitative ability, data interpretation and general knowledge. There is no fixed syllabus as such for the XAT but questions shall be asked from the above mentioned topics.

Results

The results of XAT 2019 will be declared in the 4^th week of January 2019. They can be checked on the official website.

XAT 2019 Answer Key

The answer key will be released after the examination on the official portal of the board. Candidates can check their answers via the answer key. It helps the candidate to get a rough estimate of the marks they will obtain. The XAT answer key can be downloaded by following these simple steps:
