Introduction


Uttar Pradesh State Entrance Examination (UPSEE) is a state-level test conducted by A P J Kalam Azad University, Lucknow, for admissions into various UG & PG programmes of B.Tech/ B.Pharm/ B.Arch/ BHMCT/ BFAD/ BFA/ MCA/ MBA. Started as UPTU – SEE in the year 1959, it was called later changed to UPSEE. UPSEE 2018 official notification has been released on 23rd January 2018. In 2017, nearly 4 lakh students appeared for the examination.

Medium of Examination


UPSEE 2018 question paper will be available in two languages – Hindi & English. However, the architecture aptitude papers will be available in ENGLISH only.

Mode of Answering


UPSEE 2018 is available as both Computer Based-Online Mode & Pen & Paper Based-Offline Mode owing to the degree course you’re applying for.

Papers I, II, III & IV i.e. tests for Engineering/B.Pharma/B.Arch will involve OMR sheet answering while rest of the papers will be computer-based tests.

UPSEE 2018 Exam Date


UPSEE 2018 will be held on 15th, 21st & 22nd April 2018, depending upon the course applied for.

UPSEE 2018 Eligibility Criteria

B.Tech Passed/Appearing for Intermediate examination of UP Board or 12th or its equivalent with Physics & Mathematics Chemistry/ Biology/ Bio-Technology/ Technical Vocational subject 45% of the marks in 3 subjects.
B.Tech (Bio-Tech) 12th/ Intermediate examination with Physics & Mathematics/ Biology Chemistry/ Bio-Technology/ Technical Vocational subject 45% of the marks in 3 subjects.
B.Pharm 12th/ Intermediate examination with Physics & Chemistry Mathematics/  Bio-Technology/ Biology/ Technical Vocational Subject 45% of the marks in 3 subjects.
B.Arch 12th/ Intermediate examination with Mathematics & Physics Chemistry/ Computer Science/ Biology/ Engineering Drawing / Technical Vocational subject 50% of Marks in 10+2.
B.Tech (Agriculture) 12th/ Intermediate examination in Agriculture Discipline Agriculture Stream Minimum of 45% of marks in 10+2
BHMCT/ BFAD/ BFA/ MAM 12th/ Intermediate examination in any stream Any stream Minimum of 45% of marks in 10+2
MBA/ MCA Candidate should have Bachelor’s degree of minimum 3 years duration from recognized institution. In case of MCA, candidates must have studied Mathematics either at graduation or 12th level. 50% of Marks in 10+2.
B.Tech (Lateral Entry) Passed 3-years diploma in engineering or B.Sc with Mathematics as one of the subjects at 10+2. Minimum of 45% of marks in qualifying exam.

 

B.Pharm (Lateral Entry) Diploma in Pharmacy Minimum of 45% of marks in qualifying exam.
MCA (Lateral Entry) BCA, B.Sc (IT/  Computer Science) degree from a recognized institution. Minimum of 50% of marks in qualifying exam.

How to Apply?


UPSEE 2018 application portal is closed. 

The application process will be completely an ONLINE one.

Application Fee


The UPSEE 2018 application fee will be Rs. 1300 for General category students.

For reserved category students, the fee is expected to be Rs. 650.

UPSEE 2018 Exam Pattern


The UPSEE 2018 examination will have 11 different papers for different streams as described above.

Following general parameters for all the papers have been listed below.

Duration

All the papers will be 3-hours long.

Total Number of Questions

Paper I (PCM), Paper II (PCB), Paper III (Agriculture subjects) will have 150 questions in total.

Paper IV (B.Arch), IX (MBA), X (MCA) and XI (MCA (lateral)) will have 100 questions in total.

Paper VI – VIII will have 75 questions in total.

Marking Scheme

For every correct answer, candidate will be awarded 4 marks.

There is no negative marking in UPSEE 2018.

Subjects Involved

Paper I will have 50 questions each from 3 subjects – Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics.

Paper II will also have 50 questions each from 3 subjects: Physics, Chemistry and Biology.

Paper III will have 50 questions each from 3 subjects of agriculture: AG-I, AG-II and AG-III.

The 4th paper will have 100 questions in total from 2 subjects:  Mathematics & Aesthetic Sensitivity and Drawing Aptitude.

For rest of the papers, such marks distribution hasn’t been disclosed.
