Introduction


Common Management Admission Test or CMAT is a national-level management entrance examination conducted by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE). The exam is held every year according to the directions of the Ministry of Human Resources Development (MHRD), Government of India. The CMAT score is accepted by all AICTE-approved institutions/University Departments/Constituent Colleges/Affiliated Colleges for admissions to their management program (MBA, PGDM, Executive PGDM etc.).

CMAT 2018 will be an online computer-based test (CBT) conducted in the month of January 2018. CMAT score is accepted by more than 2500 institutes and more than a lakh students appear for the examination every year.

CMAT 2018 Exam Date


CMAT 2018 shall be held in the 21st January 2018.

Medium of Examination


CMAT shall be conducted in ENGLISH only.

Mode of Examination


CMAT will be a Computer-Based Test (CBT) and thus shall be conducted online. 

CMAT 2018 Eligibility Criteria


Nationality


Candidate must be a citizen of India.

Educational Qualification


Candidate must have completed his/her graduation in any stream or discipline from a recognized college or university, to be eligible for the exam.

Candidates in their final year of graduation (10+2+3), whose results are declared before the commencement of admission for the academic year 2018-19, are also eligible for taking the exam.

Age Limits


There is no upper age limit or cap on the number of attempts for CMAT Exam. 

CMAT 2018 Exam Pattern


CMAT 2018 will be a 3-hour (180 minutes) long exam. It will be a single-day, single-session exam, from 9:30 AM to 12:30 PM, unlike previous years. There shall be 100 questions in total with 25 questions in each section.

Each question carries 4 marks, while there is negative marking of 1 mark for each incorrect answer.

A Trial Test will be made available online in December 2017 so that candidates can get a feel of the online test and navigation functionality.
 

Candidates shall be provided with rough sheets for calculations on the day of the exam. The rough paper should be left at the desk after the exam. Rough work is not allowed on any other paper/sheet.

How to Apply for CMAT 2018?


CMAT 2018 application portal is closed now.

Application Fee


The application fee for CMAT 2018 will be Rs. 1400 for General/OBC candidates and Rs. 700 for SC/ST/PWD/Female candidates tentatively.

The application fee can be paid through either of the following modes:

  • Online (Netbanking/Credit Card/Debit Card).
  • SBI Challan that can be paid at the nearest SBI branch through cash. Cash Deposit shall be accepted only from the next day of generation of the Challan.

Photograph and Signature Specifications


Candidates need to upload scanned copies of signature and photograph while applying online, as per the following specifications

  • Signature – Dimensions: 60 x 90; white background; less than 30 KB in size.
  • Photograph – Dimensions: 140 x 160; passport-size color with white background; less than 60KB in size.

Registration Procedure


  • To register, the candidate has to enter his/her personal details like name, email ID and contact number. After the details are entered, the form is submitted and a 6-digit password is generated for future use. The form details cannot be edited after the form submission.
  • The candidate then needs to pay the application fee in any of the modes mentioned earlier.
  • The last stage needs the candidate to upload the signature and photograph as per the specifications mentioned earlier.

CMAT 2018 Syllabus


There is no fixed or pre-determined syllabus for CMAT 2018. The sections tested shall be

  1. Quantitative Techniques & Data Interpretation,
  2. Logical Reasoning,
  3. Language Comprehension
  4. General Awareness.

All the sections are given equal weight in the paper and thus candidates need to prepare for all of them accordingly.

CMAT 2018 Admit Card


The admit cards for CMAT 2018 were issued from the 3rd week of January 2018.

Candidates can download the admit card from the official CMAT website: http://www.aicte-cmat.in. The admit card is mandatory for appearing in the examination and strictly not transferable.

CMAT 2018 Results


The results for CMAT 2018 have been declared on 15th February 2018.

CMAT 2018 Score Card


The CMAT 2018 Score Cards will be published online on the CMAT website and candidates can download it from there after the results have been announced.
