INTRODUCTION
UGC National Eligibility Test or UGC NET 2020 is a national level entrance exam conducted by Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) every year. The purpose of the examination is for eligibility of Lectureship( LS)/ Assistant Professors or award Junior Research Fellowship to qualified applicants in Indian colleges/universities in the following subjects:-

2. Physical Sciences
3. Chemical Sciences
4. Earth, Atmospheric, Ocean and Planetary Sciences
5. Mathematical Sciences

UGC NET 2020 exam will be conducted on 21 June,2020.
Mode of Answering
CBSE organized, UGC NET exam 2020 will be online computer base exam. ( CBT Mode)
Medium of Examination
Candidates can choose either Hindi or English as the language of the question paper.

The eligibility for 2020 UGC NET has been described below.
Nationality
Only Indian Nationals are eligible to apply.
Qualifying Examination
Candidates must hold a master’s degree from a UGC recognized university/college bearing minimum 55% marks (50% for OBC/SC/ST/PWD) in the field for which they wish to apply.
Candidates who are in the final year of their Master’s program may also apply for the exam.
Candidates who have passed UGC CSIR JRF examination before 1990, or cleared SET (State Eligibility Test)[Such as Tamil Nadu State Eligibility Test] before 1st June 2003, are exempted from appearing in UGC NET 2020.
Candidates who hold a foreign degree which is equivalent to the degree recognized by UGC are eligible to appear in UGC NET exam.
Age Limit
JRF: Candidates who are applying for JRF (Junior Research Fellowship) must not be more than 28 years of age as on 1st January 2020 and 5 years relaxation is provided to female and to the categories of SC/ST/PwD and 03 Years for OBC ( Non Creamy Layer).
No upper age restriction has been set for the post of Lectureship(LS)/ Assistant Professor.
UGC NET 2020 APPLICATION FORM
Application portal for UGC NET 2020 will begin from March 16 to April 15,16 May 2020. ( Up to 11:50pm)

Due to COVID-19, Last date of submision of application form has been changed to 16 May 2020.Accodingly, date of downloading of UGC NET 2020 Admit Card will be notified later on.

UGC NET Exam Pattern 2020
Beginning from 2018, a new exam pattern has been proposed for UGC NET exam.
According to the new pattern, the test will now have only 02 papers (from the previous 03). Both of these papers are compulsory for final selection.
Paper I
Paper 1 of UGC NET 2020 will be a one-hour long exam carrying a total of 100 marks.
There will be a total 50 questions with each carrying 02 marks.
This paper will test the candidate’s ability in the following:
- Comprehension,
- Reasoning ability,
- General awareness, and
- Divergent thinking.
Paper II
UGC NET 2020 Paper 2 will be a two-hour long exam. The total marks for Paper 2 will be 200.
It will comprise of total 100 MCQs. It will cover the syllabus according to the respective field the candidate has chosen.

UGC NET 2020 ANSWER KEY
