Tata Institute of Social Sciences National Entrance Exam – 2019 (TISSNET 2019)

Introduction

Tata Institute of Social Sciences National Entrance Exam or TISSNET 2019 is a national-level entrance exam conducted for admissions to the M.A., M.H.A., M.P.H, M. Sc., programmes at the TISS campuses. The exam is conducted by the reputed Tata Institute of Social Sciences. Technically speaking, there is no M.B.A program at TISS, however, the M.A programs in certain trades are equivalent to Management programs offered at various institutes. The official notification of TISSNET 2019 will be released during the 4^th week of October 2018.

Because of the indispensable contribution of Tata Institute of Social Sciences to society (as appreciated by Neils Bohr, Nehru, UN and others) the TISSNET has become a sought after choice among other management entrance exams. The TISS, Mumbai institute was also ranked the 32nd best university in India in the NIRF 2018 rankings.

TISSNET Important Dates 2019 (Tentative)

The tentative schedule for 2019 TISSNET has been tabulated below:

TISSNET 2019 Exam Date

TISSNET 2019 exam is likely to be conducted in the 1^st week of January 2019.

Mode of Answering

TSSNET exam 2019 is a computer-based test (online) of objective type.

Medium of Examination

English has been prescribed as the only language for TISSNET 2019.

Eligibility Criteria

The eligibility criteria covered below is only applicable for M.A related to management studies (M.B.A courses at Tata Institute of Social Sciences are referred to as M.A program). 

Qualifying Exam

Applicants must have a completed minimum 3-years of bachelor degree or its equivalent from a recognized college/university.

Those who are in their final year can apply only if they can submit their degree certificate by June 2019.

At the time of TISS NET 2019 Registration, the candidate must not have any active backlog in any of the semester exams.

Age Limit

No age limit has been set for TISSNET 2019.

TISSNET 2019 Registration

Applications forms for TISSNET Admissions 2019 will only be available in digital formats.

Portal for admissions is currently closed and is expected to open during the 4^th week of October 2018.

TISSNET 2019 Admit Card

TISSNET 2019 admit card will be available online on the official website of Tata Institute of Social Sciences in the 3rd week of December.

The candidates must download it by entering their valid login credentials. In case, the printed photograph is not clear, the candidates are required to paste a photograph (same as the one on the application form) on the admit card.

TISSNET 2019 Syllabus

Questions for TISS NET examination are drawn from following subjects:

• General Awareness,
• English Proficiency,
• Mathematics and Logical Reasoning.

TISSNET 2019 Exam Pattern

The exam pattern for 2019 TISS NET has been described below. The pattern only pertains to management related courses.

TISSNET exam is an objective type online (computer-based) test. The duration of the exam will be 100 minutes (1 hour and 40 minutes).

There will be 100 questions in total. There will be no negative marking for any incorrect response.

Subject-wise details are tabulated below:

Pre-Interview Test (PIT) & Personal Interview (PI)

PIT will be conducted before PI. Only the candidates who successfully clear the TISSNET 2019 will be eligible for further rounds according to the merit list. PIT will be a written test or a Group discussion round (as per the choice of the programme). The pre-interview test will be of 50 Marks.

After the PIT or Pre-Interview Test, candidate will have to appear for a Personal interview (PI). The PI round will carry 75 marks.

Final Selection

The final selection will follow the following marking-scheme:

TISSNET result 2019 (of the online exam) will be declared online during the 4^th week of January 2019.
