Telangana
Telangana or Trilinga Desa is the newly-made state in India with three ancient temples of Shiva in Kaleshwaram, Srisailam and Draksharamam. This fact is the origin of the name of this state. It is around 1600 km. away from Delhi and quite rich in culture.

1 History | 1.1 Telangana was formed on 2nd June, 2014 after getting separated from Andhra Pradesh. 1.2 2nd June is celebrated as Telangana Day. |
2 Geography | 2.1 Climate: (i) Semi-arid area and has a predominantly hot and dry climate. (ii) Summers start in March, and peak in May with average high temperatures in the 42 °C. (iii) The monsoon arrives in June and lasts until September with about 755 mm (29.7 inches) of precipitation. (iv) A dry, mild winter starts in late November and lasts until early February with little humidity and average temperatures. 2.2 Agriculture: (i) Rice is the major food crop and staple food of the state. (ii) Other important crops are maize, tobacco, mango, cotton and sugar cane. (iii) Agriculture has been the chief source of income for the state’s economy. 2.3 Natural Resources: (i) Telangana is the Only State in entire Southern India with vast deposits of Coal. (ii) Uranium deposit with estimated reserves of 20000 Metric Tons occurs in Lambapur, Pulicherla, Nammapuram & Yellapuram areas of Nalgonda District. (iii) Vast Limestone deposits occur in Nalgonda,Suryapet, Vikarabad, Peddapalli, Mancherial, Komram Bheem & Adilabad Districts. (iv) Manganese Ore occurs in Adilabad District. (v) Tan Brown porphyritic granite deposit occurring as younger emplacements in Karimnagar, Peddapally, Jagityal, Rajanna-Sircilla District. (vi) Gneissic Granite occurring in Bheemgal and other areas in Nizamabad District is marketed under commerical name Indian Aurora and it is mostly used for flooring purpose and manufacture of monuments with good international market. 2.4 Major Rivers: Rivers drain into Bay of Bengal: Godavari and Krishna. Rivers with inland drainage: Bhima, Musi and Paleru drain into Krishna River. Manjira drains into Godavari River. Some Important facts of Rivers (i) Telangana is separated from Andhra Pradesh by the Krishna River, which acts as a geographical divider between the two. (ii) The Krishna River is the third-longest river of the country, originating in the Satara District of Maharashtra in the Western Ghats. (iii) River Godavari, the other most important river of Telangana, is the second-longest river of the country. This river originates in the Nashik district of Maharashtra. 2.5 Animals: Indian Roller (State Bird), Jinka Deer (State Animal), Tiger, Leopard, Sloth Bear, Bison, Barking Deer, Spotted Deer, Black Buck, Antelope, Blue Bull, Langur, Sambar, Giant Squirrel, Hyena, Fox, Wild Dog, Wild Boar, Civets, Honey Badger, Otter and Pangolin. 2.6 Neighbouring States: Maharashtra – North Chhattisgarh – North-East Karnataka – West Andhra Pradesh – East and South 2.7 Capital city: Hyderabad (Largest City) 2.8Total Land Area: (i) Total area is 112,077 sq. km.
