Introduction
SRMJEEE (formerly SRMEEE) or SRM Joint Engineering Entrance Examination is an annual entrance test, conducted by the SRM University. SRMJEEE “all India rank (AIR)” works as an eligibility criterion for admission to UG courses at SRM engineering institutions. SRMJEEE 2017 scorecard will be used to fill nearly 7,000 B.Tech seats at four SRM campuses – Kattankulathur, Ramapuram, Vadapalani and NCR Ghaziabad. In 2015, 1.75 lakhs students appeared for SRMEEE 2015.

Syllabus

Number of Attempts
From 2017 onwards, a candidate can appear for SRMJEEE 2017 thrice (03 attempts) i.e. 1st attempt + 2 retakes.
At the time of counseling, if a candidate realizes that his/her marks are below the cut-off for the desired branch then such a candidate can choose to retake the exam to improve his performance.

Type of Examination
SRMJEEE 2017 is a Computer-based test. No Pen/Paper mode is available under any circumstance.
Medium & Date of Examination
The medium of question paper for SRMJEEE 2017 will be ENGLISH.
The exam can be taken in between 1st April 2017 and 30th April 2017. Candidates have to choose the date and time for taking the test, as per their convenience.
For filling canceled or lapsed seats, the date of examination would be 1st May to 30th June 2017.
Eligibility Criteria
- Nationality: Applicant must be an Indian National or an NRI or a PIO or OCI card holder.
- Age: Applicant must be at least 17 years old on 31st December 2017.
- Qualifying Examination: Minimum aggregate marks required in the qualifying exams shall be:
- Kattankulathur (Main Campus), Ramapuram, Vadapalani: 60% in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics combined.
- NCR Ghaziabad campuses: 55% in PCM.
Candidates with Biology as the third subject, instead of Mathematics, can apply for B.Tech in Biotechnology, Biomedical, Genetic Engineering, Bioinformatics and other branches related to health sciences. Additionally, the above eligibility criteria also hold true for these courses.
Application Forms
Applications for SRMJEEE 2017 are open now. Candidates can apply through online applications available at https://applications.srmuniv.ac.in/btech. Application portal is in functioning from 18th November 2017.
No last date for applying has been announced as of now.
Physical Application forms (OFFLINE application) have been discontinued from this year.
Documents to be kept ready
In order to complete application for SRMJEEE 2017, following documents will be required.
- Scanned Photograph (<500kb).
- Scanned Signature (<500kb).
- 10th std mark sheet (<500kb).
- 12th std mark sheet (if passed) (<500kb).
Application Fee & Payment
The Application form fee for SRMJEEE 2017 B.Tech admissions is Rs. 1060. Application fee can be paid either via:
- Online method (Credit Card/Debit Card/NetBanking).
- Demand Draft.
The demand draft is to be made in favor of “SRMIST”, payable at Chennai.
The completely filled application form along with valid DD must be sent to SRM University campus at the following address.

How to Apply
The application form for SRMJEEE 2017 is a completely online methodology. No hard forms or offline forms are available under any circumstances.
The application portal is open from 18th Nov 2016 until the last date (not declared). Candidates have to visit the link https://applications.srmuniv.ac.in/btech to start the application.
The whole application process is divided into three stages.
- Register & fill Application form: This is the very first stage of applying for SRMJEEE 2017. At the link mentioned above, the candidate starts by clicking on the “Get Started button”. The candidate then has to register himself by providing his basic details with valid contact info.After successful registration, an application number is generated. This number is used along with the password for future logins.
- Uploading Important Documents: After registering himself successfully, the candidate must upload the above-mentioned documents and submit them.
- Paying the Application Fees: Finally, the candidate must pay the application form fee of Rs. 1060 either online or via DD.
If the payment is made via Online medium, then nothing is meant to be sent to University office.
However, in the case of payment via DD, the candidate must write his name along with application number and send it to University office at the given address.

Slot Booking
Applicants who have successfully applied for SRMJEEE 2017 and have paid the application fee will proceed with slot booking. Slot booking is the first-come-first-serve process wherein, a candidate has to choose a suitable date for appearing in SRMJEEE 2017. Slot booking portal for SRMJEEE 2017 will open on the 4th week of March 2017.
Date, once booked, will not be changed under any circumstance.
Examination Pattern
SRMJEEE 2017 will be a 2 ½ hours long computer-based test. The question paper is divided into three parts:
- Part I: Physics with 35 questions.
- Part II: Chemistry with 35 questions.
- Part III: Mathematics with 35 questions.
OR
- Part III: Biology with 50 questions.
In the case of PCM, candidates will be awarded 3 marks for each correct answer whereas 1 mark will be deducted for each incorrect answer. But in Biology, each correct answer means 2.1 marks while a wrong answer means 0.7 marks deduction.
The maximum marks, therefore, sum up to 315 marks.
Hall Ticket
Hall tickets for SRMJEEE 2017 will be available for download in the 1st week of April 2017.
The result will be declared on 1st week of May 2017 on the university website.

What are the dates for retake ?

The dates for retake should fall in between 1st May to 30th May 2017 because as per SRMJEEE official site, candidates not fulfilling the cut-off criteria can take retakes. But, according to sources, the cut off for SRMJEEE 2017 will be declared after 2nd May 2017 (Result date). Therefore, automatically the retake dates will fall between 1st May to 30th June 2017.
