Introduction


Rashtreeya Vidyalaya College of Engineering (RVCE) is an engineering and technical institute situated in Bangalore, Karnataka. Established in 1963, the RV College of Engineering is a private institution established and run by the Rashtreeya Shikshana Samiti Trust and one of the earliest self financing Engineering college in the country. Affiliated to VTU, Belgaum, the institute is accredited by AICTE and functionally autonomous. All courses offered here are accredited by the NBA. It is also identified as a ‘Centre of Excellence’ under TEQIP by Government of India. The Institute has been rated among the Top 6 Institutions in India for Industry Academic Collaboration by the recent AICTE-CII-PWC Survey. R.V. College is spread over 50.97 acres. Ramps and lifts have been provided to help the differently able and sick. 90% of the class rooms are provided with multimedia projectors and internet facility. All academic blocks have secured Wi-Fi connectivity.

Location


The RV College of Engineering, Bangalore is on the Mysore road and is well connected by buses operated by the state transport as well as local trains. For local transport, the Jnanabharati station is situated near the RV college. The nearest railway station is the Bangalore City Station which is 18 kilometres away from the campus. The Bangalore airport is 34 kilometres away and is also reachable in a few minutes of travel. The college runs its own buses for day-scholars to easily travel from and to the college.

The RV College of Engineering, Bangalore has a widespread campus spreading over 50.97 acres including the hostels, a post office and an ING bank. Almost all the departments have their own building and houses the required lecture halls, labs and conference rooms of their own.

Internet facilities are available in the browsing centres apart from the Wi-Fi which is available throughout the campus. Also, library, workshops and all the labs are well-furnished for the best use by the students. Amenities for sports are provided for various games such as cricket, football, badminton and basketball.

The men’s hostels are located near the academic campus whereas the ladies’ hostels are in J.P. Nagar, Jayanagar and Rajarajeshwari Nagar. However, all the hostels are almost the same in terms of facilities and have a mess included as well as all the basic amenities. Vegetarian cuisines of North Indian, South Indian and Chinese are available in the mess. Canteens are in the campus for further needs and for day scholars.

RV College of Engineering, Bangalore is one of the top private engineering institutes of Karnataka. It ranked at the 63rd position in the list of engineering colleges in NIRF rankings for 2019.

RV College of Engineering Admission


Admission in RV college of Engineering in UG programmes  is based on student’s performance in the entrance tests like KCET, JEE Main, Comed-K  and senior higher Secondary Examination. done as per the Government of Karnataka norms and they announce the admission matrix. For Karnataka students, the selection process will be based on Karnataka Common Entrance Test ( KCET).  Admissions for the candidates of MTech and MBA admission is done based on score obtained in GATE and PGCET.

Eligibility criteria for B.Tech. Admissions:

1    Candidate must have scored minimum 70% marks in 10th  Standard and 70 % in PUC in both in math and science.

2  Candidate must have completed 10+2 or equivalent with physics, mathematics and                                   chemistry/Biology, language and any other subject with minimum score 45%.

Note:- (i)  Students waiting for PUC or 10+2 result can also apply and their candidature will be                  considered provisional.

(ii) Reserved category candidates have relaxation of 5% in minimum aggregate marks.

3   For Karnataka students, the selection process will be based on Karnataka Common Entrance Test              (KCET) score, conducted by the Karnataka Examination Authority (KEA) in January, every year.

4  For non Karnataka candidates, selection is based on Comed-K scores , conducted in February ,every         year.

 Note :- (i) 45% admissions are based on KCET, 30% based on Comed-D score and 25% are based on                        Management Quota and all are by merit.

             (ii) Candidates who are domicile of Karnataka for seven years are more can appear in KCET.

              (iii) Candidates of Karnataka and non -Karnataka can appear in Comed-D entrance exam.

(iv) It is to be noted that appearing in any of the entrance examination is mandatory.

             (v) Candidates who have passed from Karnataka Open University are not eligible.

Admission is offered for diploma graduates to directly join in from second year of study. It is based on the academic performance in previous educational courses undertaken by the candidate.

M. Tech. Admissions:

  • The candidate must hold a relevant bachelor’s degree in Engineering in respective discipline or must be in       final year of graduation.
  • The admission is based on GATE score as well as the Karnataka PGCET for PG courses.
  • The top ranked students are admitted.

MCA Admissions :

 Notification for admission in MCA has been released on 10 August 2020 for admission through management quota.

Candidates of general category must have completed BCA with minimum 50% marks in each year.For SC/ST candidates, this has been relaxed to 45%. Please see the link at end.
