NIRF Management Ranking 2019
NIRF Management Rankings 2019 were announced by the President of India, Ramnath Kovind on April 8, 2019. The rankings for a total of nine categories were announced in an event held at Plenary Hall, Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi.
The Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Bangalore has been ranked as the topmost Management institution in the NIRF Management Ranking 2019. The Indian Institute of Management Bangalore (IIMB) has secured the 1st place this year, ascending from the 2nd place of 2018 NIRF Rankings. Furthermore, 9 IIMs have secured places among the top 20 MBA institutes in the NIRF Management Rankings 2019.
In the NIRF Management Ranking 2019, after the No.1 ranking of IIM Bangalore, the IIM Ahmedabad is ranked 2nd which remained at No.1 position in NIRF Ranking in 2017 and 2018 consecutively. Followed by IIM Calcutta at 3rd position, IIM Lucknow at 4th, IIM Indore at 5th, IIT Roorkee at 6th, Xavier Labour Relations Institute at 7th and IIM Kozhikode at 8th position.

NIRF Ranking System
The National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) is a system that was adopted by the Ministry of Human Resource Development(MHRD), Government of India, to rank institutions of higher education in India. This framework was constituted on 29 October, 2014 and has been approved by the MHRD and was launched by the Minister of Human Resource Development on 29 September, 2015.
The first round of rankings was released by MHRD in 2017, in which about 3500 institutions participated.
NIRF Rankings are released for nine categories such as Overall, University, Engineering, College, Management, Pharmacy, Law, Architecture and Medical. There are separate rankings for different types of institutions depending on their areas of operation with varying weightage depending on the institution.
The NIRF Management Ranking Criteria
NIRF considers the following 5 aspects while ranking any institution:
- Teaching and Learning Resources(TLR)
- Graduation Outcome(GO)
- Perception(PR)
- Outreach and Inclusivity(OI)
- Research and Professional Practice(RP)
