 Introduction

Orissa University of Agriculture and Technology (OUAT) offers Bachelor’s, Master’s, and Doctoral programmes in various courses. OUAT conducts a state-level entrance examination every year for aspirants seeking admission to B. Sc. (Agriculture/Horticulture/Agricultural Engineering/Veterinary Sciences/Animal Husbandry/Home Science/Forestry/Agricultural Engineering & Technology), M. Sc. (Agriculture/Agricultural Statistics/Agriculture Biotech/Agricultural Engineering/Home Science/Forestry/Fisheries Sciences), and PhD (Agriculture/Veterinary Sciences/Fisheries Sciences/Agricultural Engineering) courses. OUAT exam is a gateway of admission to these courses in the affiliated colleges based on their OUAT entrance exam 2019 score. The official notification for OUAT 2019 has been released on 18 January 2019. The following article describes the OUAT UG 2019 entrance exam in detail.

OUAT 2019 Important Dates 

The important  dates for OUAT Entrance Exam 2019 are tabulated below:

OUAT 2019 Exam Date

OUAT 2019 is expected to be conducted in the 28 April 2019. 1030 am to 1230 pm

Mode of Answering

OUAT 2019 is a pen/paper mode test with Multiple-Choice Questions (MCQs). Candidates are required to take black ball point pens with them.

Medium of Examination

For OUAT entrance exam 2019, English has been prescribed as the only medium of examination.

Selection Procedure

Unlike other entrance exams at UG level, OUAT exam computes the merit list based on performance in entrance test and past academic record.

Eligibility Criteria

Following clauses must be satisfied by aspirants to become potential applicants for OUAT CET 2019.

Age/D.O.B.

Candidate must be at least 17 years old as on 31^st December 2019. ( Born on or before 31 Dec 2002)

Educational qualification

The candidate must have scored a minimum of 50% marks (40% in case of SC/ST/PH) in the 10+2 examination with the subjects as mentioned below:

Candidates applying to B.Sc. (Hons.) Forestry must also qualify the Physical Endurance test which will be conducted a day before the commencement of Counselling. The qualifying parameters are as below:

Domicile Requirements

Only candidates who are residing in Odisha or candidates whose parents are permanent residents of Odisha or are serving under the Govt. of Odisha/Central Govt. /Public Undertaking or any University in the State of Odisha are eligible to apply provided they must avail a certificate serving as proof of the above conditions.

Candidates who are permanently residing outside Odisha must avail a certificate from their Parent’s Employer/Tahsildar/District Magistrate to confirm their Odisha origin to be eligible for OUAT 2019.

OUAT Application Form 2019

Candidates can only apply online for OUAT 2019, no offline forms will be available.

Aspirant candidates can fill the on line application form-A by logging on following link:

Candidate can fill Application Form-B online after the Entrance Examination. Form-B can be accessed on following link by clicking on a link “Submission of online Application Form-B for Admission into OUAT, U.G. Courses 2019-20 using his/her login ID and Password. The scanned copy of relevant documents (within file size 200KB) as mentioned in the checklist (clause-6 of UG Prospectus) shall be uploadedwith Form-B.

Application fee

OUAT 2019 application fee of ₹1350/- can be paid by online transaction through Debit/Credit card or Net Banking.

Candidates can also pay by cash or via online submission through the Common Service Centres (Jana Seva Kendra).

Documents to be uploaded

The following documents are required for the two forms of OUAT application form 2019:

Form-A

Form-B

• Mark sheet of 10th standard.
• Certificate of 10th standard showing date of birth.
• Mark sheet of 10+2 Science.
• Certificate of 10+2 Science.
• Aadhar Card
• SC/ST/Green Card/Physically Handicapped certificate (as applicable) from the competent authority
• Residential certificate (Except for candidate with Odia as a subject in 10th standard).
• In case of NRI Candidates – Passport of sponsor, Visa/Permanent residential certificate of sponsor and Residential proof of sponsor (electric bill, telephone bill, water bill etc.).
• Certificate as proof of OUAT employee from Head of the Institution.
• Permanent Residential Certificate for Western Odisha.

Application Process

The application process for OUAT 2019 is broadly described below:

Form-A

• Visit the official website.
• The candidate will be asked to register using personal details such as Name, Aadhaar Number, e-mail ID, mobile number, etc. Please note that a valid Aadhar number is a necessary requirement for this form.
• After registering, the candidate can move on to filling up the form. Form-A will need the candidate to choose their preferred examination centre (up to 3).
• Once all the details have been successfully put in, the candidate will need to upload the required documents for Form-A.
• After the candidate has successfully filled the form, she/he will be redirected to the fee payment gateway. The candidate may pay the fees online, or offline through a Jana Seva Kendra.
• Upon successful payment, the candidate will receive a receipt which contains a reference number that should be noted for future reference. The candidate can now print the filled in Form-A.
• The candidates are advised to keep a print-out of the submitted form for future use.

Form-B

(Form-B will be available online after the entrance exam. Filling both the forms is necessary to be eligible for OUAT 2019.)

• Once the Form-B is available on the website, candidates need to fill the form by filling in the required details about educational qualification, category, residential information, and so on.
• The candidates must upload the scanned copies of required documents with a file size less than 200kB.
• The candidate will also be asked to put in the marks obtained by her/him in the qualifying exams (10^th and 10 + 2 marks). The marks should not be incorrect, or the admission of the candidate is liable to cancellation.
• On successful submission of Form-B, a confirmation SMS and email will be sent to the registered mobile number and email ID, respectively.
• The candidates are required to take a print out of the filled in Form-B for future reference.

OUAT Admit Card 2019

OUAT 2019 admit cards are likely to be made available from the 06 May to 19 May 2019. Candidates can download the admit cardwebsite by logging in with their credentials on following link through Log in button:

Candidates must take one valid ID proof with the OUAT admit card 2019 to the examination center. The list of acceptable ID proofs is as below:

• Aadhar Card
• Driving License
• Pan Card
• Voter ID
• Passport
• School or College ID card
• Passbook of Nationalized Bank.

Examination Pattern

The exam pattern for OUAT 2019 is as below:

• Duration: The exam duration will be two hours.
• Type of Questions: Only objective type (MCQ) questions will be asked in the exam.
• Total marks: 200
• Total Number of questions asked: 200

The section-wise marks distribution for the exam is as follows:

Marking Scheme: Each correct answer will receive one mark. There will be no negative marking in OUAT entrance exam 2019.

OUAT Result 2019

The result of OUAT 2019 is expected to be announced in the 2nd week of July 2019. Candidates will be able to check their merit list of OUAT 2019 from the official OUAT website using the login credentials.

This score is valid for one year only. The final merit list prepared is an amalgamation of following factors:

OUAT 2019 Counselling

Candidates must appear for the in-person counselling round as per the date and time mentioned on their OUAT intimation-cum-rank card. The schedule for OUAT 2019 counselling will also be put up on the official website. The eligible candidates will be allotted seats in respective courses based on the availability of seats. The following documents must be produced at the time of counselling, along with 2 self-attested photocopies:

• Intimation letter–cum-rank card;
• Downloaded application Form-B;
• Mark sheets and pass certificate of H.S.C/ S.S.C./equivalent from the Board of Secondary Education/CBSE/ICSC;
• Mark sheets and pass certificate of +2 Science from CHSE/ CBSE/ ICSC/equivalent;
• Certificate as proof of OUAT employee from Registrar, OUAT;
• Medical Fitness Certificate in prescribed form;
• Certificate towards discontinuation of study in specified format;
• Residential certificate (Except for students who studied Odia as a subject in 10th standard);
• Permanent Residential Certificate for Western Odisha;
• Certificate of Medical Fitness for Admission into B.Sc.(Hons.) Forestry Course;
• Aadhaar Card;
• Permission Letter from the employer in case of in-service candidate;
• 5 passport size photographs as uploaded in Form-A.
• C.L.C. and Conduct Certificate from the Head of the Institution last attended;
• Migration Certificate from the University/Board last attended;
• SC/ST/Green Card /Physically Handicapped certificate from the competent authority for the respective reserved category;
• In case of NRI Candidates, all the documents as below:
  1. Passport of sponsor,
  2. Visa/Permanent residential certificate of sponsor,
