NIFT vide notice dated 04 April 2020 has notified that in light of spread of COVID19 Pandemic, pre scheduled dates of events for following programme i.e. conduct of Situation Tests and GD/PI are being revised:-

Introduction
NIFT 2020 (National Institute of Fashion Technology) is conducted by NIFT for admission into various NIFT campuses across India. NIFT offers a wide range of courses from Bachelors of Design, Bachelors of Fashion Technology, Master of Fashion Technology, Master of Design to Master of Fashion Management. For admissions, candidates need to qualify the Creative Ability Test (CAT) and General Ability Test (GAT). The official notification for NIFT 2020 has been released.

NIFT 2020 Exam Date ( NIFT 2020)
NIFT 2020 examination shall be conducted in January 2020.
NIFT 2020 Mode of Examination
NIFT 2020 shall be a pen and paper based examination. Candidates need to select the correct answer from the multiple choices given and fill it in the OMR sheet.
Medium of Examination
NIFT 2020 shall be conducted in English language only.
NIFT 2020 Eligibility Criteria
NIFT has stated the following criteria for candidates to be eligible for appearing in NIFT 2020 examination.
Educational Qualification for UG Program
For the UG programs, all those candidates who have
- qualified Intermediate or its equivalent examination from any recognized board or university, or
- completed the 3-4 years of diploma recognized by AICTE or State Board of Technical Education, or
- appeared in the final examination of the qualifying educational criteria are eligible to apply.
Age Limit for UG Programs ( NIFT 2020)
- The maximum age limit of the candidate is 23 years as on 1st October 2019 for General Category.
- The upper age limit is relaxed of 5 years for Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe/ Person with Disability (PWD) categories

Age Limit for PG Programs
There is no age limit for PG Programs in NIFT 2020.
How to Apply for NIFT 2020 ?
The Online Registration process of NIFT 2020 will begin from the fourth week of October 2019.
Candidates can apply for NIFT 2020 online through visiting the NIFT official website and offline as well by sending a demand draft to NIFT
Application Fees ( NIFT 2020)
The application fees for NIFT 2020 is category specific and given in the table below.
Candidates can pay the fees online as well as offline.
For online fees payment, you can opt for Debit Card/ Credit Card/ Net Banking. For offline mode, you can pay the fees by a demand draft. The DD must be sent along with the application form to the following address:

NIFT 2020 Admit Card
NIFT 2020 Admit Card shall be available on the official website of NIFT from January 2020.
The link to download admit card shall be provided here.
Candidates must download the hall ticket online only. No personal communication or post is sent for admit cards. Without admit card, candidate’s eligibility to appear for the exam is in jeopardy.
NIFT 2020 Exam Pattern and Syllabus ( NIFT 2020)
NIFT 2020 will be a pen and paper based exam. Candidates will be asked 100 questions in English language only. The total marks for the test will be 100 marks. The duration of the exam will be 2 hours and there shall be no negative marking.
For PG programs, the number of questions, total marks and duration and greater and mentioned in the table below.

NIFT 2020 Results
NIFT 2020 Results shall be declared by NIFT by April 2020. The result will only be published on the official website.

Only those candidates who qualify according to the result are eligible for counseling.
Candidates must check the following things in their result:
- Personal details such as the name of the candidate, date of birth, roll Number, application number.
- Scores obtained in CAT, GAT and Situation Test, total marks.
- Rank and qualifying status.
NIFT 2020 Counseling
Eligible candidates must register for the counsellors online. The counseling process will start by June 2020.
For the GD and PI Interview rounds, candidates have to download call letter online by entering their application number, date of birth and roll number.
Candidates must bring for verification the following documents at the time of counseling
- 10th and 12th Mark sheet
- 10th and 12th Pass certificate
- Several Passport size photographs

Q. What is the last date of registration for NIFT?
Answer. The last date of registration for NIFT 2020 is tentatively fourth week of December 2019 . There is an extended period of registration available by paying late fees.
Q. When will the entrance exam of NIFT organized? In what mode will it be conducted?
Answer. The entrance exam of NIFT 2020 will be conducted in January 2019 through Pen and Paper mode.
