What is NCHMCT?

NCHMCT or National Council of Hotel management & Catering Technology is an autonomous body under the Ministry of Tourism. The body, besides bearing a long name, manages different hospitality – related courses taught in 64 hospitality colleges in the country. In short, NCHMCT is actually the Who’s who of Hotel Management in India.

NCHMCT 2017

NCHM JEE or NCHM Joint Entrance exam is an annual eligibility test for Hotel management courses in India. The test scores are used in admitting candidates for B.Sc in Hotel Administration and Hospitality by most hotel management institutes in India. The exam is conducted annually by NCHM every year. In 2014, approximately 22,000 students registered for the exam.

Date of Examination

The date of examination of NCHMCT 2017 is 29th April 2017 (10:00 AM – 1:00 PM).

Language of NCHMCT 2017

The language medium for NCHMCT 2017 will be ENGLISH and HINDI (except for ENGLISH language test).

Participating Institutes

The institutes that accept NCHMCT 2017 scores for admitting candidates include 21 central govt institutes, 19 State Govt-run institutes and 14 private institutes and 1 public undertaking.

Eligibility

  1. Qualifying Exam (10+2 exam): The candidate must be pass in 10+2 exam with English (core/elective/functional) as one of his subjects. Those appearing for the 10+2 exam in 2017 are also eligible for appearing provided they produce the proof of passing the same latest by 30th 2017. For the list of recognized boards, follow http://www.cobse.org/member.htm.
  1. Age Limit: Applicants must have been born on or after 1st July 1995 (1st July 1992 for SC/ST). The upper age limit for General/OBC candidates is 22 years as on 1st July 2017 (25 years for SC/ST as on 1st July 2017).

    In the case of physically challenged beings, the age limit is based on the category he/she belongs to.
  1. Physical Fitness: All selected students will have to submit a physical fitness certificate at the time of admission.

How to Apply?

Mode of Application

Application forms for NCHMCT 2017 were available in both ONLINE and OFFLINE modes.

Candidates purchased the OFFLINE forms and information brochure from affiliated institutes and NCHM office, NOIDA.

Candidates could also to apply for NCHMCT 2017 through the ONLINE medium. The link for the application portal is https://applyadmission.net/nchmjee2017/.

The last date of applying through ONLINE mode was 14th April 2017. Also, in the case of OFFLINE forms, 14th April 2017 served as the last date for receiving the filled-in application form.

Application Form Fee

The application form fee for NCHMCT 2017 was Rs. 800 for General/OBC category candidates (Rs. 400 for SC/ST/PWD). The application form fee was to be paid via:

  1. Demand Draft
    In favor of “NCHMCT” payable at Noida/Delhi.
  1. Credit Card/Debit Card/net banking.

ONLINE Application Form

Documents required for Applying
  1. Scanned copy of Passport size photograph – JPEG format – maximum size 50Kb.
  2. Scanned copy of signature – JPEG format – maximum size 50Kb.

The complete NCHMCT 2017 application was detailed in 5 steps:

  1. Registration.
  2. Filling in Application.
  3. Uploading Documents.
  4. Make Payment.
  5. Print Application.
Registration

Candidates can apply via the ONLINE mode through the link https://applyadmission.net/nchmjee2017/. Upon clicking this link, you will see a box on page’s right titled “OPTION FOR APPLYING ONLINE”. Begin by choosing the first option and click on “FRESH CANDIDATE”. Now the candidate will be asked about certain personal details and a valid contact number and email id. After filling in the details correctly, click on the “Submit” button at the bottom of the page. Candidate will now receive an application number and password for future references.

Filling in Application

After completing the 1st step, candidates can continue their application by logging in and completing the detailed application form. After filling in the relevant information, proceed by clicking on “SAVE”.

Uploading Documents

If the candidate has completed the above two steps, he/she can proceed with the 3rd step by uploading documents. The list of documents with dimensions has been given above. (link) Complete this step by uploading your scanned signature and photograph and click Submit/Save.

Making payment

The candidates can now proceed by paying the application form fee for NCHMCT 2017. The application form fee is Rs. 800 for General/OBC category candidates and Rs. 400 for SC/ST candidates.

Printing the form

The application process for NCHMCT 2017 completes when the candidate downloads the completed application form. Candidates can choose the print the form later from the link https://applyadmission.net/nchmjee2017/NCHMCT2017Single/PrintApplication.asp.  Please keep this application form safe for future references.

ONLINE APPLICATION with Demand Draft

Candidates who have chosen to pay the application fee for NCHM JEE 2017 via Demand draft must dispatch a copy of application form along with original DD bearing app no and name to the following address.

The application must reach the JEE cell on or before 14th April 2017. The application must be sent only via Speed Post/Registered post.

OFFLINE Application Form

Candidates, who were applying through the OFFLINE application form, had to send the filled-in application form at the following address.

The application form must be sent to the above address so as to reach on or before 14th April 2017. The application must be sent only via Speed Post/Registered post.

Examination Pattern

NCHMCT 2017 was a 3-hour long exam bearing 200 questions in total. The complete test paper was divided into following 5 sections:

Section 1: Numerical Ability and Analytical Aptitude – 30 questions.
Section 2: Reasoning and Logical Deduction – 30 questions.
Section 3: General Knowledge & Current Affairs – 30 questions.
Section 4: English language – 60 questions.
Section 5: Aptitude for Service Sector – 50 questions.

For every correct answer in section 1 to 4, the candidate was awarded 1 mark. However, for every incorrect answer in these sections, ¼ marks was deducted.

In the case of section 5, graded marking system was followed. Under this scheme, candidates were awarded 1 mark for the most appropriate option, followed by ¾ marks for next appropriate one and lastly followed by ½ marks for least appropriate one. Negative marking of ¼ was the same in this section also.

Admit Card

Candidates who had successfully applied for NCHMCT 2017 could download the admit cards from the link https://applyadmission.net/nchmjee2017/ from 19th April.

Result

Results for NCHMCT 2017 will be declared in 3rd week of May 2017
