INTRODUCTION

IIT Indore is one of the 8 new IITs established by the Government of India, Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD) under The Institutes of Technology (Amendment) Act, 2011. Indian Institute of Technology Indore (IITI) is an autonomous statutory organization functioning within the Institute of Technology Act. IITI ranks second in terms of high quality education in engineering field after Maulana Azad National Institute of Technology, Bhopal in Madhya Pradesh. In the year 2013, the first batch of IITI Passed out. Its permanent campus is located at Simrol. The Institute is focusing in producing world class technocrats to contribute towards integrated development of nation and the world.

LOCATION:

IIT Indore is located at Simrol, Khandwa Road, Madhya Pradesh. In October 2015, IITI moved from the two rented campuses to its permanent campus in Simrol which sprawls across around 501.42-acre (2.1 Square km. The permanent campus of IITI was established on 17th February 2009 at Simrol  IITI campus is approximately 24.50 km ( 50 Minute Run) from Indore Bus stand and Railway Station and fare is approximately INR 300-400. 35.30 Km ( I Hr 06 minute Run) from Indore Airport. Taxi/auto fare is approximately INR 500-600.

Auto Riksha and cab are available at all the time from Air port, Railway station and Bus stand

CAMPUS

 

Campus encompasses Administrative Offices, Material Management Section, Finance and Account Section, The School of Humanities and Social Sciences, The School of Basic Sciences, The School of Engineering, Basic Science Labs and Engineering Labs are all established in this campus. The Central Library is also situated in this campus.

The infrastructure facilities include:

  • LIBRARY

The Library presently has a large collection of 36790+ books. These books covers all the relevant subjects for teaching, reference and research in addition to, literature, fiction and books on general interest to take care of the leisure and recreational reading needs. Library also has special collections of books on varied topics such as Gandhian Studies, Children’s books, Hindi books, etc.

The library also provides access to more than 2540+ e-journals and 7600+ e journals to its users . In addition to this, the Library provides access to bibliographic databases such as SciFinder Scholar,  and MathSciNet, among others. The Reading Hall provides a peaceful and study conducive environment.

Apart from above, all prominent news papers are subscribed by the Institution.

  • CAFETERIA

The Institute has well maintained, hygienic and spacious dining halls both for Veg and Non. Veg food. Students are provided four meals a day: breakfast, lunch, evening snacks and dinner. The mess menu is regularly updated and changed as per students’ demand.

ADMISSION PROCEDURE

B Tech Programme:

  • Admission to the B.Tech. programme is based on JEE Advanced rank, followed by Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) Counselling. The institute-specific qualifying cutoff is announced after the declaration of JEE Advanced 2020 result . The seat allotment process is based on the candidate’s preference for courses  and colleges  and the college cutoff . The cutoffs are generally declared in seven rounds of JoSAA Counselling based on opening and closing ranks for each of the programme-specific specialisations, the cutoffs are further divided into gender and various categories such as SC, ST, OBC, PwD, etc. However, amidst the Covid-19 situation, only six rounds of counselling were conducted.
  • M Tech and M.S. (Research) Programme
  • Admission to MTech is granted on the basis of GATE score (For Indian students) in relevant discipline.
  • MSc Programme
  • Admission to MSc Programme (Two years Programme) is on the basis of IIT JAM (Joint Admission Test for M.Sc) results with minimum 60% marks in qualifying Degree.
  • PhD program
  • Selection to the PhD program is through a rigorous evaluation process which includes an interview by a selection committee and candidate’s academic records.
  • Before making arrangements for paying non-refundable application fee, please verify your eligibility by checking the MEQ and QE requirements of the Department to which you intend to apply.

EDUCATION LOAN

There is an interest free loan scheme- The Vidyalaxmi loan scheme. It is a Government run education loan portal which is a single platform where students can avail information on loans offered by 38 banks. As per the IBA guidelines, the portal is operating under the aegis of Department of Financial Services, Department of Higher Education and Indian Banks Association (IBA).

Vidya Lakshmi is one of its kind portal through which students can apply for educational loans. Just by filling up a single common education loan application form, students can apply to 3 banks of his/her choice at one time. This is a process of applying of education loan application fast, transparent, and hassle free.

The eligibility criteria for the merit cum means scholarship (MCM) are as follows:

    MERIT- CUM -MEANS SCHOLARSHIP (MCM)- B.Tech and MSc. For SC, ST and PwD Categories:   Students whose parental Income is less then Rs. 1,00,000/- per annum.     Institute Merit-cum-Means Scholarship of Rs. 3,000/- per month
(ii) Students whose parental Income is between Rs. 1,00,000/- and Rs. 5,00,000/- per annum.   Maximum of Top 10% students of above categories from each batch of B.Tech. and M.Sc. Programs will be considered and awarded the MCM Scholarship. Institute Merit-cum-Means Scholarship of Rs. 2,000/- per month   Already Exempted form payment of 100% tuition fee per Semester
  Note: The student must have secured minimum CPI of 7.0 (for B.Tech.) and 7.5 (for M.Sc.) at the end of every semester and should not have any courses in which he /she has not earned credits.  
    (b) For GEN, OBC-NC and EWS Categories: Students whose parental Income is less then Rs. 1,00,000/- per annum.   Full remission of tuition fee and   Institute Merit-cum-Means Scholarship of Rs. 3,000/- per month (for BTech) Rs. 2,000/- per month (for MSc)
Maximum of Top 10% students of above categories from each of B.Tech. and M.Sc. Programs will be considered and awarded the MCM Scholarship.  
Note: The student must have secured minimum CPI of 7.5 (for B.Tech.) and 8.0 (for M.Sc.) at the end of every semester and should not have any courses in which he /she has not earned credits.  
(c)  For GEN, OBC-NC and EWS Categories: Students whose parental Income is between Rs. 1,00,000/- and Rs. 5,00,000/- per annum.     Maximum of Top 5% students of above categories from each of B.Tech. and M.Sc. Programs will be considered and awarded the MCM Scholarship. Remission of 1/3 of tuition fee (for B.Tech.)   Institute Merit-cum-Means Scholarship of Rs. 2,000/- per month (for M.Sc.)   Remission of 2/3 of tuition fee already given
Note: The student must have secured minimum CPI of 7.5 (for B.Tech.) and 8.0 (for M.Sc.) at the end of every semester and should not have any courses in which he /she has not earned credits.  
(d) Any female student who is not included in any of the above categories and applies to avail the benefits of MCM scholarship in the 1st year of her BTech program, should be considered for remission of 100% tuition fee irrespective of her parental income. Continuation of the  MCM  scholarship  in  subsequent  years  of BTech Remission of 100% tuition fee
   Remission of Tuition Fee Only for B.Tech. Students For Gen and OBC Category:   For the students whose family income is less than Rs. 1 lakh per annum. They shall get Full remission of the tuition fee. i.e. Rs 1 lakh.
For Gen and OBC Category:   For the students whose family income is between Rs. 1 lakh to Rs. 5 lakh per annum.     They shall get remission 2/3rd of the tuition fee. i.e. Rs 66,667/-
  Note: No refund will be applicable for SC, ST & PWD students as they are already exempted from paying tuition fee.

(iv) If any student avail above scholarship can not avail any other scholarship from any Government/ semi Government/ Private Sources. Decision of Institute in this regard will be final and binding.

PLACEMENT STATISTICS

    Approximately 160 recruiters participated in the placement process.

    The top recruiters who participated in the IITI placements process were Aditya Birla Group, Amazon, Bain Capability Centre, D E Shaw, GE, Goldman Sachs, Google, PwC India, Vodafone and many more such companies.

   Computer Science & Engineering (CSE) recorded the most number of placements. Many roles were provided for the domains of Consulting, Sales & Marketing, and Finance.

There were around 45 new recruiters for the 2020 batch, these were AB InBev, Appdynamics, Cloudtail, FIITJEE, Flipkart, Intermiles, Kohler, Payoneer, and Thomson Reuters.
