Introduction
IIT Hyderabad is a premier central government funded technical institute that offers courses in engineering and technology. Established in 2008, IIT Hyderabad was designated as a part of the new eight IIT’s started under the Institutes of Technology Amendment Act in 2011. Initially, the institute began its functioning at a temporary campus in Ordnance Factory, Medak, however, it shifted to its permanent new base in 2015. Currently, the institute is running into its 9th batch with a great placement rate much like other IITs.

IIT Hyderabad Location
IIT Hyderabad is situated in the Khandi location, near the Sangareddy area i.e. the outer ring road of Hyderabad, the capital of Telangana.
It is situated on NH-65 and is well-connected by local buses.
The Hyderabad railway station (popularly called Nampally Railway Station) is nearly 55 Km from the Campus while the Secunderabad station is around 70 Km from the campus.
The nearest airport is the Hyderabad Rajiv Gandhi International Airport which is 65 kilometres away from the campus.
IIT Hyderabad Ranking
IIT Hyderabad is well-ranked among engineering institutes. Although not par with the standards of older IITs, it still ranks around 10-15 in national rankings.

IIT Hyderabad Admission Procedures
IIT Hyderabad follows the same standard admission procedure followed by IITs generally.
Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech)
Much like other IITs, admission to B.Tech courses at IIT Hyderabad is also via Joint Entrance Examination (JEE). An aspirant must qualify both JEE Main and JEE Advanced for admission to B.Tech programs.
Master of Technology (M.Tech)
M.Tech admissions at IIT Hyderabad are done through GATE examination.
Master of Design (M.Des)
CEED is the entrance exam used for M.Des admissions at IIT Hyderabad.
Master of Science (M.Sc)

IIT Hyderabad Campus
IIT Hyderabad used to function temporarily in a campus at Ordnance Factory Medak in Eddumailaram. Currently, almost all functionalities are moved to the permanent campus in Khandi, on the outer ring road of Hyderabad. The current and the permanent IIT Hyderabad campus is 576-acres fully-residential campus. Three academic blocks and 10 hostel buildings to host around 2000 students constitutes the campus. There are internal transportation facilities available.
Other amenities include Intranet and Wi-Fi available throughout the campus. The standard facilities such as the gymnasium, sports arenas and canteens are available. Library and Workshop are also present with all the required facilities. A list of facilities available at IIT Hyderabad include the following:

IIT Hyderabad Placement
Being an IIT, IITH attracts many MNC’s and public-sector companies for placement offers as well as summer internships. Some students also opt for higher education or self-employment through the Entrepreneurship cell support. There are multiple MoU made between foreign universities for such higher education support.
In 2017-18, a placement percentage of 61% was recorded offered by 120 companies that visited the campus.
