Introduction
Manipal University is an International deemed university based in the state of Karnataka. The university was established in 1953 when founder, T.M.A Pai founded the Kasturba Medical College in Manipal. Soon after, an engineering school was also opened in 1958. After 32 years in operation, these colleges were collectively granted University status in the year 1985. Continuing the legacy, in 2007, the university was rebranded as Manipal University. Presently, the university offers degree courses in Engineering, Management, Law and research at 7 of its sister campuses. As of 2016, MU is one of India’s biggest universities in terms of area & courses offered.
Location
Manipal University is located in the university town of Manipal, 65km north of Mangalore. Formerly part of a village, the Manipal town was born when T.M.A Pai established the Manipal University in 1953. Currently, the town comes under the municipality of Udupi city.
Apart from the main campus at Manipal, the university also has 7 sister campuses. These campuses are located at:

Ranking
Manipal University has been a gem to medical & technical education in India. From time – to – time, it has featured in the list of best universities in the country.
In 2016, HRD ministry placed Manipal University at 32nd spot in the list of best universities in India. Admissions
B.Tech/BBA/M.Tech
Admission to these UG programs at Manipal and its sister campuses is through MU Online Entrance Test (MUOET). MUOET is an annual computer-based test held across various test centers in India in April – May. For more details read MUOET 2018 at EduPadhai.
MBA
For MBA admissions, MU doesn’t conduct any independent entrance exam. MBA admissions are based on candidate’s score in CAT/MAT/XAT/CMAT etc & a GD & PI conducted at Manipal University. For details follow the link http://manipal.edu/som/programs/program-list/mba.html.

Campus
Manipal University covers an area of 600 –acres of land in Manipal city, Karnataka. Being a university town itself, Manipal has every facility required in a flourished township. The university campus has each & every sports facility that a kid ever thinks off. It has Badminton, Cricket grounds, tennis courts, TT tables and a lot more. Apart from the regular sports, Manipal University also has games like squash in its facilities. A unique feature in this quiver of sports, is the Marena sports complex.
Marena Sports Complex
Marena Complex is a six-storied centrally conditioned building, having sports fields inside it. This 6 – storied building ensures liquidity in sports activities irrespective of weather conditions. Library
Manipal University has a total of six central libraries in its campus. Apart from these central libraries, each department also has a small library attached to it.

Being home to Kasturba Medical College, Manipal University provides one of the finest medical facilities to its students.
