What is MHT CET?


MHT CET 2018 Entrance Examination is a state-level common entrance test for admission to First Year of UG courses in Engineering/Technology (B.E./B.Tech) and Pharmacy (B.Pharm/Pharm D.) in the Maharashtra State. It is conducted annually by Maharashtra Directorate of Technical Education (DTE) for admission to the Government, Govt. Aided, University Managed, University Departments and Unaided Institutes. MHT CET 2018 official notification has been released on 18th January 2018.

MHT CET 2018 Exam Date


MHT CET 2018 exam will be conducted on 10th May 2018.

Subject Timings Date
Mathematics 10:00 AM – 11:30 AM

10th May 2018

Physics + Chemistry 12:30 PM – 2:00 PM
Biology 3:00 PM – 4:30 PM

Mode of Examination


MHT CET 2018 will be conducted in OFFLINE mode.

Medium of Answering


MHT CET 2018 Mathematics paper will be conducted in English only whereas the Chemistry and Physics paper will be available in English/Marathi/Urdu languages.

MHT CET 2018 Eligibility Criteria


Engineering/Technology Courses


  • Candidates should be Indian National.
  • There is no age limit for this examination.
  • Candidates must have passed the class 12th exam or HSC examination with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects and Chemistry/ Biotechnology/ Biology/Technical Vocational subject and must have scored minimum 50% marks (45% for reserved category students) in these 3 subjects taken together.

OR

  • Passed Diploma in Engineering & Technology with minimum 50% marks (45% for reserved categories)

OR

  • Passed B.Sc from a recognized university in India with at least 50% marks (45% for reserved category).

Candidates applying under the Maharashtra candidature must appear for MHT CET 2018. However, those candidates who wish to apply under the All India Quota can choose to appear for either JEE Main 2018 or MHT CET 2018.

Pharmacy (B.Pharma) Course


  • Applicant must be an Indian national.
  • Candidates must have completed class 12th with Physics, Chemistry as compulsory subjects along with either Mathematics/ Biology /Biotechnology/ Technical Vocational as a subject.
  • Obtained 50% score (45% for backward category students) in the 3 subjects mentioned above.

Candidate applying under Maharashtra candidature & All India candidature must appear for MHT CET 2018.

Pharmacy (Pharm.D) Course


Must satisfy eligibility clauses of B.Pharma course.

OR

Candidate must have passed Diploma Course in Pharmacy from institutes affiliated to State Board with minimum 50% marks (45% for backward/Physically handicaped category students).

Candidate should have obtained minimum 50% marks in the MHT-CET 2018.

How to Apply?


The MHT CET 2018 application portal is closed.

Application fee


The tentative application fee for MHT CET 2018 for different categories is as under:

The candidates can pay the application fee by using Debit Card/ Credit Card/ Net Banking/ another online payment mode.

Documents to be Uploaded


  • Passport-sized color photograph – 15-50Kb – JPEG/JPG format only
  • Scanned signature with black-ink pen – 5-50kb – JPEG/JPG Format only.

Admit Card 


MHT CET 2018 admit card will be issued by DTE in online mode only. The admit card of MHT CET 2018 will tentatively be available for downloading printing from 24th April 2018 till 10th May 2018.

MHT CET 2018 Exam Pattern


MHT CET 2018, much like earlier years, will have 3 papers as described below.

  • Paper I: Mathematics.
  • Paper II: Physics & Chemistry.
  • Paper III: Biology.

Candidates willing to study Engineering in further years must appear for Paper I & II while the ones willing to study Pharmacy must appear for Paper II & III.

The duration for each of the 3 papers shall be 90 minutes.

Paper I: Mathematics

The mathematics paper of MHT CET 2018 will have 50 questions in total over a duration of 90 minutes. Each question will carry 2 marks making the total marks 100.

Out of 50 questions, 40 will be based on 12th std syllabus while 10 questions will be drawn from 11th std syllabus.

Paper II: Physics & Chemistry

The paper II will have 100 questions in total. Both Physics & Chemistry will have equal weightage, with 50 questions being drawn from each subject.

Each question will carry 1 mark.

Paper III: Biology

Paper III will also have 100 questions equally divided into 2 sections of Biology: Zoology & Botony.

Each question will carry 1 mark.
