Introduction


KCET 2019 (Karnataka Common Entrance Test) is a state-level combined entrance exam that allows admission to different UG and professional programs in the state of Karnataka. With Karnataka CET scores, a student can apply for admission to 1st year Engineering (B.E/B.Tech), B.Sc. in Agriculture, B.Sc. in Horticulture, B.Tech (Food Technology), B.Sc. in Forestry among other courses.

KCET examination fulfils the eligibility for either of the following courses in the state of karnataka.

  • Bachelor of Veterinary Science and Animal Husbandry,
  • B.Sc (Agriculture, Sericulture, Horticulture, Forestry),

  • BH.Sc. (home science),
  • B.Tech (Agriculture Engineering, Food Technology, Dairy Technology, Food Science & Technology),

  • B.Sc (Agri. Marketing & Co-Op),
  • B.Pharm,
  • Pharm-D and
  • AYUSH (Ayurveda, Yoga & Naturopathy, Unani and Homoeopathy) courses.

KCET 2019 Exam Date


KCET 2019 is expected to be conducted in the 3rd week of April 2019.

Mode of Answering


KCET 2019 will be held in pen and paper mode in OMR pattern. The candidates need to take a blue or a black ballpoint pen to the examination centre.

Medium of Examination


KCET 2019 will be conducted in two languages, which are English and Kannada.

Eligibility Clauses for KCET 2019


The general eligibility criteria for KCET 2019 can be concluded as follows:

Nationality

No applicant shall be eligible for entrance to Government Seats unless he/she is a native of India.

Qualifying Examination

  1. Applicants must have qualified 10 + 2 level qualifying exam with Mathematics and Physics as principal subjects and English as a language subject.
  2. Applicants must have studied Bio-Technology/Chemistry/ Computer Science/ Biology as an optional subject in class 12th.
  3. Applicants must have secured a minimum of 45% in the qualifying exam (for reserved categories, it’s 40%).

The detailed academic clauses for KCET 2019 are as below:

AYUSH – courses Ayurveda, Yoga & Naturopathy, Unani, Homoeopathy Passed in 2nd PUC / 12th Std / Equivalent Exam with English as one of the Languages and obtained a Minimum of 50% of Marks in aggregate in Physics, Chemistry, Biology subjects. (40% for candidates belonging to ST, SC, Cat-1, 2A, 2B, 3A and 3B)
3. Architecture course (B. Arch) Passed in 12th Std/2nd PUC / Equivalent Exam with Mathematics as Compulsory optional subject and obtained a Minimum of 50% of Marks in aggregate in all the subjects. (45% for SC, ST, Cat-1, 2A, 2B, 3A and 3B category candidates)
4. B.Sc. (Hons) Agriculture,  B.Sc. (Hons) Sericulture,  B.Sc (Hons) Horticulture,  B.Sc (Hons) Forestry, B.Sc. Engineering / Technology courses (B.E. / B.Tech) Passed in 2nd PUC / 12th Std / Equivalent Exam with English as one of the Languages and obtained a Minimum of 45% of Marks in aggregate in Physics and Mathematics along with Chemistry / Bio-Technology / Biology / Electronics / Computer. (40% for SC, ST, Cat1, 2A, 2B, 3A and 3B category candidates)
6. Bachelor of Veterinary Science and Animal Husbandry (B.V. Sc. & A.H.) Passed 12th/2nd PUC with an aggregate minimum of 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English subjects. (40% for candidates belonging to ST, SC, Cat-1, 2A, 2B, 3A and 3B)
7. Pharma-D Passed in 2nd PUC / 12th Std with Physics, Chemistry and Biology or Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.

OR

Passed with a minimum 45% marks in Pharmacy Examination (Diploma) from a Pharmacy Council of India approved institution Under Section 12 of the Pharmacy Act. (40% for candidates belonging to ST, SC, Cat-1, 2A, 2B, 3A and 3B)

8. 2nd Year B. Pharma Passed in Diploma in Pharmacy Examination from an institution approved by the Pharmacy Council of India Under Section 12 of the Pharmacy Act and has secured minimum of 45% marks.  (40% for candidates belonging to ST, SC, Cat-1, 2A, 2B, 3A and 3B)
9. B-Pharma Passed in 2nd PUC / 12th Std with Physics, Chemistry and Biology or Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics and obtained a Minimum of 45% of Marks in aggregate in Physics, Chemistry, Biology subjects. (40% for candidates belonging to ST, SC, Cat-1, 2A, 2B, 3A and 3B)

OR

Passed with a minimum 45% marks in Pharmacy Examination (Diploma) from a Pharmacy Council of India approved institution Under Section 12 of the Pharmacy Act. (40% for candidates belonging to ST, SC, Cat-1, 2A, 2B, 3A and 3B)

 Age


The candidate should not be younger than 17 years old.

KCET Application Form 2019


KCET application forms are currently unavailable.

Only Online applications shall be accepted for KCET 2019.

The expected date for the beginning of KCET 2019 registrations shall fall in the 1st week of February 2019.

KCET Admit Card 2019


Only the applicants who have successfully applied for KCET 2019 entrance exam will be able to access the KCET admit card 2019. The KCET admit card 2019 is expected to be available from the 2nd week of April 2019 on the official website.

The candidate must take a printout of the KCET admit card 2019 and carry it with along with a valid ID to the examination centre.

KCET 2019 Exam Pattern


Karnataka Common Entrance Test (KCET) shall be a Pen/Paper based test i.e. OMR sheets will be used for reporting answers.

The examination shall take place over a period of two days comprising of 3-papers of 80 minutes each.

KCET 2019 shall test the knowledge of a candidate in following 03 subjects:

Candidates must appear for 03 papers out of 04 based on the course chosen. For medicine related courses, candidates must appear for Biology paper along with Physics and Chemistry while for engineering related courses, Mathematics shall be the third subject.

Below are some points which the candidates needs to keep in mind:-

Marking Scheme

All questions will carry one mark. There will be no negative marking for the wrong answers.

For the Kannada Language test, applicants need to attend the exam center in Bangalore. The exam will be for 1 hour with 50 marks. The test is particularly for Gadinadu Kannadiga and Horanadu applicants only.

KCET Answer Key 2019


Post the completion of examination, the official answer key will be released. Karnataka CET answer key 2019 will be available via online mode.

Students will be granted an opportunity to file their objection, addressed to the “Executive Director, Karnataka Examination Authority, Bangalore” either in person or via speed post.

The final answer key will be published along with result.

KCET Results 2019


KCET results 2019 are expected to be declared on 25 May 2019.

The students will get access to their KCET score by logging in with valid credentials. The counselling/document verification process will begin after the KCET results 2019 are announced.

KCET Counselling 2019


KCET counselling will begin from the second week of June 2019. KEA i.e. the organising committee will begin the counseling process with the choice filling and enrollment.

Only the applicants who have qualified the written exam will be called for the in-person Karnataka CET counselling 2019 process.
