Introduction


UPTET (Uttar Pradesh Teacher Eligibility Test) is an annually held State level recruitment examination conducted by UPBEB (Uttar Pradesh Basic Education Board). UPTET is conducted to recruit teachers at various public schools in the state of Uttar Pradesh. This exam is a rite of passage for all the candidates who wish to apply for the posts of primary (Class I to Class V) as well as secondary school (Class VI to Class VIII) teachers in Uttar Pradesh. UPTET 2018 is mandatory for those candidates that want their career as teachers in the state of Uttar Pradesh. UPTET 2018 application forms are expected to release in October 2018.

Type of Examination


Uttar Pradesh Teacher Eligibility Test (UPTET exam 2018) will be an offline test i.e. mode of answering shall be Pen/Paper based.

Medium of Examination


UP TET question papers will be printed in Hindi & English both, except for language paper meant to test Hindi.

UPTET 2018 Exam Date


The UPTET 2018 will be held in the Last week of December 2017.

UPTET 2018 Eligibility


Eligibility for Primary Teachers (Class I to V) 


Candidate must have completed their graduation from a UGC recognized college/university and studying/completed either of following:

  • Candidate must be studying/completed the 2-year BTC course from an institute affiliated to NCTE.

OR

  • Candidate must be studying in final year/passed D.Ed. (Specialization) in an institute recognized by RCI.

OR

  • Candidate must be studying in the 2nd year of BTC (Urdu)/ passed from an institute affiliated to NCTE.

OR

  • Candidate must be in the final year or should have passed Diploma in Teaching from Aligarh Muslim University.

OR

  • Candidate must be a Moallim-e-Urdu degree holder from Aligarh Muslim University before August 11, 1997. (For Urdu Teaching)

OR

  • Candidate must have scored 50% marks in intermediate and should be currently studying in the final year/passed the B.EL.ED.

UPTET Eligibility for Secondary Teachers (Class 6 to 8)


  • Candidates must have completed their graduation from a college or a university recognized by University grants commission. Apart from this, a candidate must be studying in the 2nd year/passed BTC in an institute affiliated to NCTE (National Council For Teacher Education).

OR

  • Obtained 50% marks in Graduation and PG from a UGC approved institute and must have passed or currently studying in 2nd year of B.Ed/L.T in an institute affiliated to NCTE (National Council For Teacher Education).

OR

  • Candidate must have passed graduation with minimum 50% marks and currently studying/passed 1-year B.Ed (Specialization) from an institute affiliated to RCI (Rehabilitation Council Of India).

OR

  • Candidates who have scored 50% marks in intermediate and who are currently studying in the final year or passed B.A/B.Sc.Ed or B.Sc.Ed/B.A.Ed or B.L.Ed.

For SC/ST/OBC candidates, the percentage bar in above criteria has been lessened by 5%. 

UPTET 2018 Application Form


UPTET 2018 application forms are yet to be released.

Candidates may register for UP TET exam via the official website of UPBEB i.e. upbasiceduboard.gov.in.

Candidates willing to appear for both Paper I & II have to apply separately for each paper and pay the exam fee accordingly.

The prescribed registration fee for UPTET 2018 can be paid through either of the following mediums:

  • Credit Card/Debit Card issued by banks in India
  • Internet Banking.

Admit Card


UPTET 2018 Admit Card will be issued 15 days prior to the date of examination. Candidates can download the same from UPTET 2018 official website.

No Admit cards will be sent via post.

UPTET 2018 Exam Pattern


UPTET 2018 recruitment test comprises of two papers, namely Paper I & Paper II.

Candidates willing to work as Primary Teachers (Class I to V) have to appear for Paper I only.

Candidates who want to teach Class VI to VIII must appear for Paper II only.

However, candidates willing to teach Class I to VIII must appear for both Paper I & II.

Paper I


Paper I of UPTET 2018 will be 2.5 hours (150 Minutes) long. It will comprise of 150 questions of 1 mark each. Questions asked in Paper I will be derived from following 5 subjects:

Paper II


UPTET 2018 Paper II will also be 2.5 hours (150 minutes) long. Similar to Paper I, a total of 150 questions will be asked with each carrying 1 mark.

UPTET 2018 Answer Key


The answer key of UPTET 2018 Exam will be available on the Official Website within weeks after the exam date.

Results


UPTET 2018 Exam result will be declared within 1-2 months from the exam date.

The UPTET 2018 scorecard will remain valid for 5 years irrespective of category.

The candidates also have a provision of getting their copy of OMR sheet by paying fees of INR 500 through DD , drawn in favour of “Secretary, Examination Controller Officer” payable at Allahabad.

UPTET 2018 Qualifying Marks


General category candidates who score 60% or above would be considered qualified for the UPTET 2018 Recruitment.

Reserved category candidates (SC/ST/OBC) need to score 55% in order to Qualify UPTET 2018.

Upon qualifying the UPTET 2018 exam i.e. on scoring the above-mentioned marks, candidates can obtain an eligibility certificate from the District Education board.

Duplicate UPTET Score Card


In case of losing the eligibility certificate candidates can apply for a copy by paying a fee INR 300 through DD (Demand Draft) drawn in favor of “Secretary, Examination Controller Officer” payable at Allahabad.

The following certificates are to be submitted by the candidates in order to get a second copy of UPTET Eligibility Certificate:
