Introduction


NMAT (NMIMS Management Aptitude Test) is conducted by Graduate Management Admission Council (GMAC), which facilitates admission into various management courses such as MBA/PGDM in all the top B-schools as well as others. NMAT is a national level entrance, previously conducted by NMIMS and now taken over by GMAC. It is a computer-administered examination to be taken at designated test centres. NMAT 2019 official notification has been released.

NMAT 2019 Exam Date


NMAT 2019 exam date will fall in the period from 4th October to 17th December 2019.

A candidate may attempt the NMAT 2019 test at most three times and the best performance will be taken into account.

Mode of Answering


NMAT 2019 is purely a computer-based examination with multiple-choice questions. The questions are randomly selected from a pool of questions and hence different for each candidate and each time slot.

Medium of Examination


NMAT exam is & always will be conducted in ENGLISH only.

Eligibility Criteria


The NMAT test itself has no criteria. The test organizers forward the scores to respective universities or institutions preferred by the test taker. And hence the test taker has to be aware of eligibility criteria of the respective institutions he/she wishes to join.

Some rules apply irrespective of the institution such as,

  • The test taker must possess a U.G. degree, or must be in the last year of under-graduation.
  • Aggregate Scores in all UG degree must be above 50%, or the minimum pass percentile, whichever is higher.
  • All papers must be cleared without backlog or arrears before appearing for NMAT 2019.

NMAT 2019 Application Form


NMAT 2019 applications are open. The last date to apply for the exam is 3rd October 2019.

The application fee for NMAT 2019 will be ₹2000 plus relevant taxes.

Steps of filling the application form


Step I: Account creation

Create an account on the NMAT 2019 website if you are a new candidate. This requires a valid mail-id, or a Google or Facebook account.

Step II: Login

You must login to the website using your mail-id or Google or Facebook account. Alternatively, an OTP method is also available.

Step III: Registration

  • Upon first login, click Form button in top-right and select the registration form.
  • Fill the credentials correctly and proceed to next section.
Step IV: School preference selection

The candidate needs to go to each NMAT score accepting school website and complete the application registration process.

Step V: Review

All details can be reviewed and corrected. Once verified, click Submit.

Step VI: Fee payment

You will be redirected to fee payment page where you can select a mode of payment.

Respective portal will be opened for payment. Complete the process suitably.

Step VII: Further processes

  • Schedule your date and time of examination attempt.
  • Admit card download
  • Re-scheduling
  • Re-take and re-take scheduling

NMAT 2019 Admit Card


NMAT 2019 Admit card can be downloaded from the applicant’s dashboard once the payment is successful. It includes the photo as uploaded earlier and all basic information required for identity verification and the details of the examination undertaken.

NMAT 2019 admit card is common for all attempts by the candidate and hence attempt count and venue of examination is not printed. It is mandatory to carry this Admit Card during every attempt.

NMAT 2019 Exam Pattern


NMAT 2019 will have 120 questions to be answered in 2 hours, divided into three sections in NMAT 2019.

There are three sections with a separate time-limit for each of them and a limited review time to review the answers in that section. Once submitted after review, answers cannot be altered and the candidate must move on to further sections.

NMAT 2019 features only objective questions (MCQs) and equal weightage to each question.

Each question carries 2 marks for a right answer and there is no partial or negative marking.

The order of attempting the sections is according to the test taker’s preference.

NMAT 2019 Cut Off


There is no defined cut-off provided officially. The below table provides an estimation based on past history of candidates. It may vary according to current year paper’s difficulty and requirement by the institutions.

NMAT 2019 Results


NMAT 2019 Results are released by GMAC after nearly 4 or 5 weeks from the date of examination, approximately around third or last week of Jan, 2019.

If multiple attempts were made by the candidate, the best score after scaling is taken as final score. The scores are scaled to a standard level due to varying difficulty in each paper. Hence the final score is irrespective of the difficulty of the paper the candidate attended.

Also, the score is sent digitally to the institutions as preferred by the candidate during the registration.

Counselling Procedure


After publication of NMAT results, each institution releases their cut-off. If a candidate clears the cut-off, he/she will be called for further processes. Further rounds of selection include personal interviews, case discussions and any other rounds by individual institutions. These rounds are held only in Mumbai or the respective institution. Documents to be presented during counselling are:

  • Identity proof
  • Proof of residence
  • All certificates regarding previous courses (HSC, UG degree, etc)
  • Mark sheets as deemed necessary
  • Admit card
  • Appointment letter or Offer of admission as sent by the institution
  • Score report card.
