Introduction


IBPS (Institute Of Banking Personnel) conducts a nationwide Common Written Test (CWE) for Regional Rural Bank (RRB) staff recruitments, commonly referred to as “IBPS RRB”. The test is held every year annually, beginning from 2011. The complete recruitment process shall involve either two stages (for Office Assistant recruitment) or 3-stages (for Scale I,II & III officer recruitment) based on different post. The official notification for IBPS RRB 2018 will tentatively be released in July 2018.

IBPS RRB 2018 Exam Date


The IBPS RRB 2018 (Preliminary) examination shall be conducted on 11th, 12th & 18th August 2018 for Officer Cadre recruitment and 19th, 25th August & 1st September 2018 for Office Assistant recruitment.

The IBPS RRB 2018 (Main) examination shall be conducted in the 30th September 2018 for Scale I, II & III recruitment while it will be held in the 7th Oct 2018 for Office Assistants.

Interviews will be conducted in December 2018 for Officer Cadre. No interview will be held for Office Assistant Recruitment.

IBPS RRB 2018 Vacancies


As per the official notification, around 3,312 vacancies have been released for the RRB Officer cadre, while a total of 5,249 vacancies have been released in the RRB Assistant Cadre.

Medium of Examination


Candidates can choose either Hindi or English as the medium of examination.

Mode of Answering


IBPS RRB 2018 (Preliminary & Main) tests will be Computer-based Test (CBT) or commonly known as “Online Test”.

IBPS RRB 2018 Eligibility 


Nationality


Applicants must belong to either of the following nationalities:

  • Citizenship of India or
  • subject of Bhutan or Nepal or
  • a Tibetan Refugee who came over to India before 1st January 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India or
  • a person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania (formerly Tanganyika and Zanzibar), Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India.

Educational Qualification


Office Assistant

Applicant must be graduate in any discipline from a recognized university.

Proficient in the desired local language as prescribed by the Bank.

Working Knowledge of a computer.

Officer Scale I

Same as Office Assistant.

Additionally, preference shall be given to candidates having degree in Agriculture, Horticulture, Forestry, Animal Husbandry, Veterinary Science, Agricultural Engineering, Pisciculture, Agricultural Marketing and Cooperation, Information Technology,
Management, Law, Economics or Accountancy.

Officer Scale II (General Banking Officer)

In possession of a Bachelor’s degree in any discipline from any recognized university with at least 50% aggregate marks. Preferences given are same as that of Officer Scale I.

However, applicants applying for this job must have at least 2 years of work experience in a Banking/Financial Institution as Officer.

Officer Scale II (Specialist Officer)


Information Technology Officer (IT Officer)

Candidate must have a Bachelor’s degree in Electronics/Communication/Computer Science/Information Technology or equivalent from a recognized University.

It is desirable of the candidates to have a certificate in ASP, PHP, C++, Java, VB, VC, OCP etc.

Must hold 1-year work experience in relevant field.

Chartered Accountant (CA)

Must be a Certified Associate (CA) from Institute of Chartered Accountants of India.

Must have worked as a CA for minimum 1-year.

Law Officer

Degree from a recognised University in Law or its equivalent with
a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate.

Worked for minimum 2 years as an Advocate or as a Law Officer in Banking/Financial Institution.

Treasury Manager

Must hold CA or MBA (Finanace) degree from a recognized
university/ institution

Worked for minimum 1-year in relevant field.

Marketing Officer

MBA (Marketing) from a recognized university.

Worked for minimum 1-year in relevant field.

Agricultural Officer

Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture/ Horticulture/ Dairy/ Animal
Husbandry/ Forestry/ Veterinary Science/ Agricultural
Engineering/ Pisciculture from a recognized university or its
equivalent with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate

Worked for minimum 2-year in relevant field.

Officer Scale III  


Same as Scale II.

However, he/she must have minimum 5-years of work experience as Officer in Bank/Financial Institutions.

Age Limit (As on 1st June 2018)


The Age terms and conditions are different for different designations. As on 01.06.2018, age of the candidate should be:

  • 18-30 years – Scale I Officer
  • 21-32 years – Scale II Officer
  • 21-40 years – Scale III Officer
  • 18-28 years – Office Assistant (Multi-tasking staff)

How to Apply?


IBPS RRB 2018 application forms were available till 2nd July 2018.

Candidates who wants to appear for Scale I officer and Office Assistant have to fill a single form for both Preliminary and Main entrance. Candidates can apply only for one post at a time.

Application Fee


For Officer Scale I, II and III the fee is of Rs. 600 for the general category and Rs. 100 for the reserved category.

For the post of Office Assistant, the fee is Rs. 600 for general and Rs. 100 for the reserved category.

Examination Pattern


The IBPS RRB 2018 exam involves 3-stages in Officer recruitment while is a 2-staged process for Office Assistant Recruitments.

The exam pattern for different posts is different. The preliminary examination is generally based on reasoning and quantitative aptitude. The single exam and the main exam will be held on the Computer, Reasoning, Quantitative Aptitude, English and Financial awareness.

Syllabus


The subjects covered in the examination will be General Knowledge, English, Computer Application, Reasoning and Quantitative Aptitude.

Separate IBPS RRB 2018 Admit Cards shall be published for all stages of recruitment.

The IBPS RRB 2018 admit card for Preliminary test has been released on 1st August 2018 for Officer Cadre and for Office Assistant (MTS) post.

Similarly, admit cards for Main examination will be released in Oct 2018 & Nov 2018 for Officer Cadre & Office Assistant (MTS) respectively. This stage will conclude the recruitment process for Office Assistants.

Finally, the call letters for Interview shall be released in Dec 2018 for final stage in Officer Cadre recruitment.

IBPS RRB 2018 Results

IBPS RRB 2018 results for Preliminary test are expected to be declared in Oct 2018 for both Officer & Office Assistant Recruitments.

The results for the Main test shall only be declared for Officer Cadre recruitments and is expected to release in Nov 2018.

The final IBPS RRB 2018 results, after completion of all stages, is expected to be released in Jan 2019 for all the posts.

Scale I falls in the Officer cadre of Banking services in India whereas Office Assistant falls in Clerical Cadre.

Hope that clarifies your doubt.

Sir I’m in st category. Already I fill up the form but now I see that there is no vacancy for official scale 1 for ST.
May I attend the exam for scale 1.
