Note: Each day the exam will be conducted in two slots. The first slot will be from 9:00 AM till 12:00 Noon and the second slot will be from 2:00 PM till 5:00 PM. A candidate can choose anyone out of these two slots based on availability. More details will be available on the admission website. (If the candidate does not book the test slot and date during the mentioned period then the system automatically allocates the test date and slot as per the preferences and available dates and slots.)

Introduction

BITS Pilani or Birla Institute of Technology & Science is a premier private institute located in Pilani, Rajasthan which offers education primarily in the fields of Engineering, Science and Management. Founded by the renowned industrialist, Mr G.D. Birla, in 1964,  Birla Institute of Science and Technology or commonly known as BITS Pilani has a total of 15 academic departments. BITS is located in Pilani, Rajasthan and oversees the administration of other centres of BITS including – Goa, Hyderabad and Dubai. BITS Pilani is also one of the few institutes in India which follows a “No Reservation Policy” for admission into its various courses.

BITS Pilani Location: Where is Pilani? 

BITS Pilani campus is located adjacent to Pilani Town, part of Jhunjhunu district in Rajasthan. Pilani is about 200 km west of Delhi and 205 km north of Jaipur. It is well connected to both the cities.

If travelling by road from Delhi, there are 4 routes that can be taken –

1. Delhi-Bahadurgarh-Jhajjarh-Pilani
2. Delhi-Bahadurgarh-Rohtak-Pilani
3. Delhi-Gurgaon-Mahendragarh-Pilani
4. Delhi-Gurgaon-Narnaul-Pilani.

The nearest railway station to the campus is the Chairawa Station situated 16 Km from the BITS Pilani College Campus. 

For students travelling from Delhi, Loharu station which is around 22.6 km away from the BITS Pilani College campus is the destination. This station is connected to the Sarai Rohilla Railway Station in New Delhi and Jaipur Junction Railway station in Jaipur.

The campus is also well connected to the bus routes. Multiple buses depart from Maharana Pratap Inter State Bus Terminal in Delhi and State Bus Terminal in Jaipur.

BITS Pilani Admission Procedure

Undergraduate Courses

Admission to BITS Pilani for all its undergraduate courses (Integrated First Degree courses) will be via BITS Admission Test (BITSAT). It is an all India computerized examination whose scores are used for admission.

Admission to following courses is via BITSAT:

• Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech).
• Bachelor of Pharmacy (B.Pharma)
• Master of Science (M.Sc) (Integrated)
  • Biological Sciences
  • Chemistry
  • Mathematics

  • General Studies.

Candidates can choose any of these courses after 10+2.

Postgraduate Courses

M.E/M.Pharma Admissions

Admission to the higher degree programs will be based on candidate’s performance in BITS HD Admission Test. The test will be in online mode and will be divided into two sections – I (core Maths, Physics, English) and II (basics of Stream applying for).

BITS Pilani MBA Admissions

Admission to MBA programs will be based on candidates performance in CAT/GMAT, followed by their performance in group discussion and interview.

M.Sc/M.Sc(Tech.) Admissions

Admission to all M.Sc (Hons.) and M.Sc (Tech Hons.) courses will be based on BITSAT 2019.

Doctorate Courses

Candidates applying for PhD programs at BITS will be selected based on their performance in the written test and the Interview.

BITS Pilani Fee Structure

The BITS Pilani Fees for various programs has been tabulated as follows.

BITS Pilani B.Tech Fee 

( For Academic Year 2023-24) .For domestic students (First Degree -FD) Pilani. Also applicable for BSc, MSc & B Pharma)

This fee structure is also applicable for Goa & Hyderabad Campus. There is difference in hostel fee only.

Notes :   (i) Students admitted in AY 2023-24 will pay tuition fee of 2,45,500/- per Semester in AY 2023-24. In subsequent years (AY 2024-25, 2025-26 etc.), tuition fee will increase @5% every year in INR for 2023-24 batch students (unless the government announces any new levy/tax, which will be passed onto all existing students irrespective of their year of entry).
              (ii) Additional fees will also apply, should a student registered for practice school in a semester (i.e. 35% of the semester fees of the previous academic year in INR). 

             (iii) For some specific programmes requiring special treatment, fees and mode of their payment will be determined by the Vice-Chancellor in consultation with the Chancellor.

Admission fee :10,000/-

Every year 30% students admitted to First Degree Programs, get semester tuition fee waivers in the range between 15% to 100% in the form of either merit or merit-cum need scholarships as mentioned below:

Pilani Campus

The BITS Pilani campus is spread over a 328-acres land and houses all amenities and buildings that befit an institute of international standards. The infrastructure available within the campus include the following

BITS Pilani Library

This has well-planned/ seating halls, a digital library and a large area for book storage. Students can subscribe to various digital libraries, journals and databases from this library.

Computer Center

It is the central computing lab having 300 workstations. This also provides support for conducting inline exams.

Conference Room

It is an 18 + 16 seat CISCO teleconference room allowing multi-point teleconferencing facility to students and faculties.

Laboratories

The labs are equipped with sophisticated equipment’s which help student demonstrate the theory taught in their classrooms. Few of the research facilities receive funding for research by the Government and many private bodies.

Wi-Fi enabled campus

The campus boasts a state-of-the-art network that provides connectivity to the entire institute.

Residential Zone

There are 11 hostels for boys and 1 for girls. There is a common mess and a kitchen for a set of two boys hostel and one mess and kitchen for the girls hostel. The hostels have been provided with internet connectivity which the students can enjoy after registration.

Games and Sports Facility

The campus has facilities for following games: Football, Hockey, Cricket, Basketball, Volleyball, Tennis, Badminton, Table Tennis, Athletics, Gymnastics, Health Club, Swimming, Water Polo, Weight Lifting, etc. The sports club conducts open Sports meet in the first semester of every year in which several outstation teams participate.
